yes wearing clothes is personal choice. I remember how some other characters were accused before for the clothes.. I feel its wrong.. ven though the @TM here has not accused the actor but the writer which I really appreciate.

@Varsha di: when archana used to wear those full length grandma type bliuses then the backs were always deep cut. I remember it cos kools use to make fun of this in her commentary at several occasions. At that timr those blouses had come in trend, just like now full length net sleeve blouees are in trend. It has nothing to do with archana going backwards now from less modern to more modern with age.

So in Rajistan the women wore backless blouses with that much skin on display? No dupatta or chodor or saree covering it? That is pretty bold for a rural society...

but comparing to hema malini is wrong .. She is a celeb and celebs do many things which normal ppl dont.. that doesnt mean everyone wears it .. i have never seen any 60+ lady wearing backless blouses

^^ But Deshmukhs are not normal people too. They are filthy rich too. In fact they are also like celebs. I really don't get it why it's such a big deal if mothers in PR wear such blouses. As I said earlier, I have seen even normal women wearing such blouses.

Some around me do wear, some don't. People around me are well to do, I am not sure how the other strata dresses up (My maid is pretty fashionable though😆) Women who like to keep themselves tip-top and feel comfortable in carrying them off wear them, or those who have been wearing them from their mid-ages might continue. Many who have never worn them before may shy away from wearing them in old age.This is not really a recent trend, I think they gained momentum after Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. I am inclined to say Savita type blouses are common but lately I've seen a lot of women wear the other type also.

archana can wear whatever she wants.every woman should dress as per her wish.

the one thing not mentioned is that the dressing type is influenced by the actress. they do have a say in the type of clothes worn and ankita lokhande more so as the lead. remember her playing archana in 2nd generation and she wore the lace sari during ovi ceremony and then switched to pants and salwar after manav reunification. @ that time ankita kept saying she wanted to play a younger character so i think they changed her style to suit a younger look. and if u see her real style its similar to what she wears on the show so the actress can definately have an influence on what they wear on the show.

Of course the dressing can be influenced by the actress. Usha ji may not be comfortable with deep back blouses in real life and Ankita is comfortable- this answers the TM's query of why Savita does not wear such blouses and Archana does, if elderly women do wear such blouses. I guess most people were focussing more on explaining the point that around us people do wear such blouses, especially those from affluent homes so it does not really strike as something very odd if Archana chooses to wear such clothes for whatever reason, which is what the TM was asking that do women around you wear such clothes.
