'Sahils Murder a big Mystery' RANO

The actress who presently plays the role of Rano in Kasamh Se and Sonu in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki talks about her journey into television and being Dipannita's sister. Arunima shares a typical sibling relationship with sister Dipannita and the two are so different that Baliji was never even aware of their relation.

"Dipannita is like any other sister; we are like any other siblings. We are nothing alike. She is very simple and I'm not. There are so many memories we have together. We used to wrap ourselves together in one blanket and try to walk together. We ended up on the floor! I'm the one who was naughty while she is very calm and never as glamorous as she is on screen. She has more patience with me than I could have! Even my production house was completely unaware we were sisters. They came to know that I was Dipannita's sister after I started working with them. I stayed with her before I got married and now we try to visit each other's places though because of our hectic work we can't manage often."

Arunima has previously done a cameo role for 20 episodes of Remix on STAR One and two episodes for Rehaee. She is originally from Assam and came to Mumbai in 1997. The actress has completed her B.Sc from Sophia College and her M.Sc from SNDT College. She lived with her sister until three years ago when she married her college sweetheart.

Anunima says, "We met in my college. He proposed to me then and we got married three years ago. He's working in an MNC."

Arunima talks of her experience with Ekta Kapoor:
"I shot my portfolio with Vinay Roy and started distributing my pictures to different production houses. Balaji saw them and contacted me for the role. I did my auditions and screen tests after which Ekta called me and the others and narrated the whole role. She did it so well that we all understood very quickly. I got the role and now I am signed on yearly renewable contract with Baliji.

The busy actress, who confesses that "Rano is not at all like me!" is not interested in being center stage of the serial:
"I'm happy even if I get one or two episodes every week. What is important to me is the performance. In Kahaani too I am getting fewer scenes but I don't mind. I'm happy now and I don't want to do any more daily soaps because with Kasamh Se I am busy enough!"

She follows the strict Baliji code of keeping mum of the happenings in the script:
"The mystery of Sahil's (on-screen husband in Kasamh Se) murder is going to be big surprise for our viewers as well as each one of our cast! In daily soaps the actors hardly know about twists in their roles and the story."
