Part 13
" KAPOOR JI" Madhu barged into his room.
"Yes Madhu... Now what is it I can do for you?" He asked calmly as he was full acquainted with Madhu's anger.
"Why was I not informed of this...?" she asked with glaring eyes.
"What information?" He asked confused.
"That there is an outdoor shoot and I AM NOT GOING FOR IT!!" she almost screamed the last words with hand up in the air in disbelief.
"ohh that... " he said calming down.
"Why are you cooling down like that??" she said in disbelief.
"Actually Madhu we were discussing about the scenes and movie that day and we thought that we want a fresh location for these scenes. You know it would bring freshness." He trid to explain.
"And you are telling me tis now? Is that all I mean to you? I had thought..." she said almost hurt but still not loosing the anger from her tone.
"No Madhu.. Its not that... It was all decided so soon..." he tried to defend.
"you had time to inform the new comers... i should have been in the meeting and I am the one being informed about it the last.. ohh wait correction- I have come to know about it.. Not even informed..." she said angrily.
"Madhu I am reaaly sorry..." he tried to find words.
"Do you know Kapoor ji, I had regarded you as a Father figure. You know how this industry works "No personal-Only Proffesional" but I had still maintained a respect of our Personal relation. but i get this in return... such big decisions being taken and I am not at all involved in it... Do you know how stupid I looked in front of him when RK told me that he has an outdoor shoot and I didnt even knew of it " she said hurt.
"Listen Madhu... You are taking it wrong. Its just that it all happened so fast.. we didnt mean it You are the lead. The movie is you.." he tried to practice his old trick helplessly.
"This wont work now Kapoor ji. I know you do this to appease me. But that doesnt mean I would give in to it all the time. " she said with stern and straight face.
"Madhu, even you are a daughter to me. I have seen you growing up. I think I got a bit too comfortable about you. I didnt know you would get hurt like this. I am sorry..."
After a lot of pampering and explanations Madhu finally agreed to him.
"Would you mind having a break and go for the outdoor.?" He asked trying to make up for his mistake.
"Are you not going?" she asked confused.
"No Madhu... I am not going thats why it all slipped my mind and I forgot to tell you. I had thought that we would complete your scenes here in the meanwhile." He said smiling and relaxed after Madhu's assault.
"But why are you not going?"
"How can I go when my daughter is not..." he said smiling at her genuinely. Madhu smiled back at him..
"But if you want, you can go. In fact you should have a break. Really. I will just inform the production house about you" he said as he touched his pockets to feel for the mobile.
Now this was of course a tempting offer for Madhu. She wanted to go. She could be with her RK and also prevent Dipali from sticking around him. But Kapoor ji had stayed back for her and even he would have to face a loss of both time and money. She stood there trying to decide which way to choose.
"No!" she said as she saw him putting his cellphone to his ear.
"What?" Kapoor ji looked at him confused.
"I dont want to go... I had just come to ask about why i was not informed or consulted in the decisiion. Otherwise I dont want anybody to face losses because of just my holiday. she said cursing herself for melting down like that.
"Madhu dont worry about my losses. You know it wont matter much. You should have a break." He tried to argue.
"I would have a break after this movie. Everybody would have problems. You and everyone around. Junior artists, technicians everyone. I would stay back and complete my shots." she smiled at him.
"But Madhu..." he tried to talk to her.
"My decision is FINAL and you know I am not goong to change it easily." She said getting into her arrogant self as she put her goggles on to step out.
Madhu stepped out of his cabin and looked around the place. There was a unit working for the preparations to go for the outdoor shoot.
'WOW.. Lets Clap.. Here comes the Goddess of Sacrifice... Madhubala Malik!' she smiled at herself sarcastically.
'Shut Up! You know na Kapoor ji would have faced losses otherwise. And all these people' she looked around at all the people working their sweat out.
'But Kapoor ji would have handled it and I could have been with my RK... ' she sighed.
'Why should he do that because of my obsession...'
'Obsession!!! Are you mad.. Its LO... wait! Love? What am I thinking. How can I be in love.' she walked as she was lost in her thoughts.
'My life is this... ' she looked around the set as she entered. She fpund herself near the camera and touched it.'This camera, which bloomed me all life.. These lights, which marked the start of my existence. This place, it has been my home.. my place.. And I am made for this... And I cant fall in love so easily. Its not time...' she took a deep breath as if soaking away all those unwanted feelings in herself.

The days had passed by and it had been quite long after that night and RK and Madhu saw less of each other. Their work made them stay away. Madhu and RK's scenes had been shot in beginning and now just other scenes where either of them had to be alone or with others had to be shot. Specially when RK and Dipali had to go for an outdoor shoot. Madhu had started feeling lonely again. Her insecurity regarding her relationship with RK increased day by day even though she had decided that she was not going to fall for him. But it seemed that whether she is with him or away from him, her mind was still occupied with him.
As for RK he was missing Madhu alot. He wanted to meet her and talk to her but it seemed things were not setting straight. Sonething or the other kept cropping up and he could not go to her. He wanted to see her desperately.
Apart from the time he was shooting, Dipali would be around him, and take away most of his time. Most of the time she would hover around. RK also had developed a cordial friendship with her.
The movie was now towards the end so neither Madhu nor RK could get much time with each other.
And to top it they didnt even have scenes together. One or two that they had were also of a certain argument.
One day Madhu was really upset. It had been days since she had met RK. She was also not well because of the tight schedule. The news of her being unwell soon flew through the air and reached RK.
He immediately got worried and visited Madhu's vanity.
" hey Madhu.. I heard you are not well today.. Is it? " he asked concerned.
" Do you still hear about me? Strange..." she taunted.
" what do you mean by that..." he got confused.
" I meant I didnt knew that you still get to hear about me" she looked at him straight into the eyes.
" why are you talking like that" RK couldnt understand the reason of her behaviour. They were meeting properly after long time and she behaved like this. It was true that they hadnt met for long but he had thought that their relationship didnt just depend on that. He thought it was something stronger.
" This is the way I talk, Rishabh" she said looking back into the mirror infront of her.
He felt bad hearing her call his full name. He was always RK for her. He would always be RK for her.
" what happened to you" he asked confused and baffled.
"what would happen to me " she shrugged off.
" Madhu is there something you want to say to me? You have some problem.. some complaints? You wanna scold me?" he tried to cool her down.
" We both have our shoots... I dont think you should be wasting your time here... you should go and prepare for that..." she said rudely looking herself in the mirror in front and adjusting her make up.
RK looked at her with an angry face. He couldnt understand what else to say. All he knew was if he stayed any longer he might do something amiss. And he didnt want to hurt Madhu. So he fumed out of her vanity.
RK was sitting on his chair near his vanity. He was thinking of Madhu's behaviour and was trying to decipher that. But all he knew was that he wanted everything to be good between them. He knew how much ever he loved Madhu but he would never get her but atleast being her good friend and associate was all he wanted. He wanted to be around her, be someone whom she can share her good and bad with. He only wanted to be someone in front of whom Madhu could eat Golgappas with mouthful.
While RK was busy in his thoughts, Dipali came to him hopping.
"Hey Rishabh..." she called out to him. But he didnt turn back to her. She called him several times but RK seemed lost to her.
"RK..." she called out getting restless.
"Huh... Madhu... " he jerked out if his thoughts.
Dipali looked at him with a wierd look. "What... Its me... I have been calling you for so long..."
"But I heard Madhu call me RK. " he said confused looking around.
"ohh that... I called you RK..." she said smiling widely.
RK looked at her with an angry expression.. "Only Madhu calls me RK... " he said with a warning expression.
"Ohhkaayyy" she said taking a step back and gesturing from her hands "m sorry..."
"Do you want something? " he says gettjng irritated...
"Nope... Just like that... But I think I should better go" she said expecting him to stop her.
" yes, you should" he said concentrating back on his thoughts
Dipali turns away irritated, "Him and his mood swings... God knows what happens around this place... everybody seem to have a temper all the time" she stomped away.
After sometime RK was having his shoot with Dipali. It was a romantic scene and he had to hold Dipali's hands and then hug her tightly after a series of emotional dialogues.
Madhu had somehow found it necessary to drop into the shoot and have a look at her RK. She stood at a distance taking support from a big door frame and watched the scene progress. RK's closeness with Dipali was hurting her and making her angrier. She was frowning her heart out when RK's gaze fell on her in between the shot. Seeing her looking at him and Dipali, he felt uneasy. He tried taking his eyes off and concentrate on the scene but unknowingly his eyes would drift back to her.
Madhu realised that her presence was making him feel uneasy and somehow that made her feel truimphant. She took in a deep breath and her frown changed to smirk. She looked at RK with a piercing gaze.
RK looked att her again and yet again he felt constrained. Her eyes seemed as if they could cut through him. He couldnt remove his eyes from her and just stared at her in confusion. Confusion about what she wanted or was she his Madhu...
The director interrupted and RK apologised. The shot begun again. Madhu was still in no mood to forgive him and just stood there with the evil expression still on. Again RK looked at her and Madhu's smirk and gaze made him anxious.
It had been 4rth take and RK had lost his focus completely. He was completely baffled by now. He excused himself from the set and demanded a break. He walked to Madhu furiously but she just turned away arrogantly and walked out. RK walked behind her and held her by the arm and turned her to face him with a jerk.
She looked back at him with a calm face.
" You need something?" she asked feigning concern.
"What are you doing? " he asked angrily.
"What did i do? " she said acting innocent.
" Stop this Madhu" he said getting tired.
" I havent started this" she said in a firm and rude voice and pulled away her arm and turned away.
RK looked at her going away and sat on one of the chairs which were kept there. He kicked away a stone and angrily tightened his fist. He didn't know who was he furious at. He just couldn't understand what was happening around him. Between him and Madhu. Thinking of Madhu, He was now feeling helpless. He had wanted friendship with her, he had loved her, he loves her but he is getting this in return.
Madhu felt bad for what she did to RK. Whatever it was between them she didnt want him to spoil his work. She couldnt spoil his carrier. She knew how excited and expectant he was for this film. Even for her this film was something really special now.
Madhu came back and took a chair beside him and sat. RK looked up at her sitting with him. She gave him an empty smile while RK looked at her helplessly with eyes full of questions.
" Why Madhu... " was all he could say with questioning eyes.
" Okay.. its nothing.. really... I was just messed up with something and i took it out on you..." Madhu said feeling sorry.
" I dont have a problem with that we are friends and its really okay but at least tell me what the matter is..." he said to her firmly looking straight into her eyes.
His piercing gaze was making Madhu's eyes to well up again. She took a deep breath and looked at him as she composed herself. Breaking down in front of someone was totally against her image.
" Listen RK... I told you that day.. when you are in a scene believe yourself to be the character and not yourself... Be him. The way he would react in such a situation... and until you are in a scene just forget everything else... believe in the breeze and waters and the roads yourself then only you can make others believe it.." she explained to him.
" I reacted much better than how Arjun would have reacted if Anjali saw him with another girl..." RK said.
Madhu smiled. "So you dont want me to come to your shoot? "
" Its nothing like that... i was just joking... I cant understand why this Priya is needed.." he said getting irritated.
Madhu laughs at him.. " To create tension in the story" Madhu said.
RK smiled at her... " Thanks Madhu.."
" Dont worry.. now go and give your shoot... and i want it to be your best shot yet again.."
RK smiled at her " Madhu I want.."
" No RK... we will talk about it later.. seriously... Go to your shoot.. " she interrupted.
He nodded at her and smiled and went back to the set. Madhu looked at him going away. She didnt know why she felt a pain. It felt as if he was going away from her. Now she felt like she needed him, but the reason behind that she didnt know. She had never wanted anyone like that. Not even when her Papa and Ma left her. Not even when Trishna went away. Was she the only one who had to stay back and watch everyone just go away from her.

sorry.. i never take so much time in updating but i was busy last week. I couldn't think of much. Most of this was written earlier.
