Kaisa… star, better known as Sasha, bites the dust

Seems like a cruel way of getting rid of actors who become superfluous to television serials, doesn't it? Whether it's Kiran Karmarkar in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki or Yuvika Chaudhary in Astitva, the story tracks are developed to bump them off.
Now, it's Chetan Hansraj (better known as Sasha in Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii) who plays Josh in Balaji's Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai, who will be killed. "It was decided in advance," says Gursheel Walia, creative head Sony Television.
The show revolves around the love story of Angad and Kripa. "The story demanded that Josh's character be murdered so that Angad can bear the brunt of the blame," adds Walia. Hence, Angad will go behind bars.
She further elaborates that since television is a daily medium, there are several decisions that are taken at the last minute. "We have to constantly reinvent the story-line to keep the viewership intact. Chetan is an actor and took this sportingly," she says.
But, what does Chetan have to say about this latest development, considering this is the only show he currently has on hand? "When I started doing the show I was well aware that the role was a cameo and would last only for just three months. But yes, it does feel weird parting with the serial," he admits.
But he is quick to add that he didn't spend enough time on the show to get really attached to it. "I've worked with other units, but Kaisa... made me feel really comfortable," he adds in retrospect.
What about future plans? "Kaisa… was the only show I was doing. After my role is wrapped up, I intend meeting Ekta (Kapoor) to see if we can work something out. I'm sure she'll have something to offer me," he adds. The episode where Josh gets murdered will be telecast next week. With Josh aka Chetan exiting the show, Kaisa… will now introduce another girl named Vrinda to essay the role of Simmone.
