CHAPTER - 5 AGONY
A/N :
This chapter is dedicted to one of my favourite writers who is every one's favourite on IF. She has given us an unforgettable story, Meant To Be and now she is killing us with a suspense thriller Along Came She. Btw Anu di, i just realised that both the names of your FF's rhyme!! Good job!!👏👏 I lately got to know that she is one of my stalkers and I am truly obliged. So this one is for you federized2210 aka Anu di😳🤗❤️

Nothingness
Those colourless beads all over my forehead.
That lonely demon pounding so hard, hidden inside my chest.
As I look up, gazing into my own reflection,
The effort to find the inner me is un-abatable.
I see the scarlet dripping down my wrist.
That devilish red, an epitome of my numb scars.
My eye-lids shut me away from this world.
I hit something hard, I drown in my scarlet pool.
Dead temporarily, I wish it was eternal.
But the pain, even now, so intense and wild,
It watches me die for death and floods my soul away.

Sanyukta couldn't curb the tears flooding from her eyes endlessly. She rubbed her eyes for the umpteenth time to clear her vision and read the above lines. She was not able to take it any more. It wasn't just pain. It was pure AGONY. Pain is sufferable. AGONY has to be suffered. She shut her diary, braced it against her chest and wailed. After some minutes, she rubbed her eyes off the tears for one last time as she turned back to look at the person standing behind her. Priya. Sanyukta smiled vaguely at her as she got up to put back her diary in her closet.
" Sanyu, come here. Please sit down ? " said Priya affectionately.
" Here, drink some water. "
Sanyukta silently obeyed to whatever Priya said.
Priya sat beside Sanyukta and held her hand. She squeezed it slightly assuring her that she is there for her. It was visible that Sanyukta was trying her best to fight those tears.
" Sanyu, kya hua? Kyun itna ro rahi thi tum? "
" Just some past memories which agonize me till date. " whimpered Sanyukta.
" If you are okay with it you can share with me Sanyu. "
" It isn't any big secret Priya. "
" If you don't really mind we can get there. You just have to continue where you stopped in the class this afternoon. "
" Hmm " said Sanyukta as she was transported to her school days in a flash.
*Flashback*
" I love you " said Akshay in a shaking tone.
" What ? " I shot back.
" Um.. Sanyukta, I said I... I love... I love you. " said Akshay potraying a fake determination on his face.
" But.. But Akshay.. I never thought in that way. Im really sorry but for me you are just a real good friend and.. " said Sanyukta.
" And.. and wh..wh..whattt San..Sanyukth..tha? What we have is frien..friendshi..pp? No! You sh..share everything wi..th me. We..we are mo..mo...re than frien..frien..dss! " said Akshay with an apprehensive tone.
" Ak..shay.. "
Akshay leapt forward and held Sanyukta's hands in his and said " Look me in the eye Sanyukta and now tell me we are just friends. "
Sanyukta went numb for 4-5 minutes. She just normally gazed into his eyes in bewilderment.
Akshay was multi-tasking. He knew he asked Sanyukta to look him in the eye but he was simultaneously looking out of the window from the corner of his eye. Only he knows how much guts it took for him to do all this. All the lines he said were extemporized. His hands were trembling and he was profusely sweating. He was literally switching his eyes from left to right eagerly waiting for that person outside to retreat at the earliest.
" Phew! " said Akshay and he let go off Sanyukta's hands in a reflex as he saw that person leave. He took out his hanky to wipe his forehead. Sanyukta was still standing in a daze.
" Oh.. Ah.. Hahaha. Sanyukta.. Just calm down! I really didn't mean what I said. "
" So what were you doing for the past 10 mins? What was all that crap you said ? "
" Uh.. Umm... You know right that we have our annual day function coming up in 3 weeks and I have been selected for the skit? I was just rehearsing that with you to see your reaction. Hahaha! " quipped Akshay with full efforts.
" OMG! You just lost me for the whole 10 mins and I was considering some possibilities like you got drunk or a dog bit you and which is why you were blabbering utter nonsense! " said Sanyukta.
" Yeah! I apologise! "
" Nah. Its okay. But next time inform before you start off with such things! " quipped Sanyukta.
*End of Flashback*
" Phir, Phir kya hua Sanyu? Kaun tha woh? " asked Priya.
" Randhir Singh Shekawat " said Sanyukta.
" Ohh! But why did he follow you guys ? "
" To see what we were upto. "
" Okay, but why did Akshay say I love you to you then? Annual day function seems like a lame excuse to me. "
" Yes it was a lame one. Akshay did it to see what Randhir's reaction would be like. "
" But why? Did he find some clue from Randhir's side? "
" Akshay figured that I fell for him and which is why I was jealous of that Keerthi and gang so he wanted to know if Randhir would get jealous too when he proposed me. "
" So did Randhir go jelly? "
" Yes. "
" When did you know about this? "
" Randhir started ignoring me. It had been a week since we exchanged even a hey hii or bye. I tried my best but he just left in a rage always. His behaviour was incomprehensible. But one day... " said Sanyukta as she reminsced that moment.
* Flashback *
" Sanyukta this place is under construction so watch out before you stumble into something. " said Akshay.
" Yes boss. " I saluted.
Akshay was saying something about the site and the genre of buildings that were going to come up soon and I was listening to him looking here and there and suddenly I spotted a small puppy in a pit hole, deep enough for it to meet failures whenever it tried climbing up. I immediately rushed to its rescue and slowly got down. I carefully placed it up on the ground and it ran towards its mom. I held a near by rock to climb up on my own and it suddenly slipped from my hand and *thud* I fell deep down into it.
" Akshay! Akshay ! Akshay! " I kept shouting till my throat went dry but he never came there.
" C'mere give me your hand "
I immediately looked up to see who it was. I was appalled as I saw Randhir there.
" You? How are you here? " I asked.
" Getting your answers or getting outta here. Pick one " said Randhir.
I instantly gave my hand in his as he pulled me and made me stand still on the ground. I was busy dusting my face, hair and dress off the mud with an expression of disgust. I suddenly heard something and to my surprise I saw Randhir chuckle for the first time. He looked so divine when he smiles heartily. I stopped what I was doing and kept adoring him. He then observed that I was fully drooling over him. I felt his gaze burn my skin. I averted my gaze in a reflex. I was about to leave when he neared me and held my hand. He lifted the other hand and brushed my hair past my ears. I stiffened at his touch. He rubbed away the left over mud on my cheeks not looking away from my eyes. I blushed a deep red. He smirked in response. I took a step back as I could no more take the turmoil of feelings in me. He shot back to reality and finally looked away from me.
" Why did you care? You should have left me there with my life at stake. ' I said.
" Shut up Sanyukta Agarwal. " said Randhir.
" Why do you affect me so much? " I asked
" Because you let yourself fall for incorrigible people." said Randhir in an AGONIZING tone as he looked at me for one last time and took to his heels.
