I will agree with you this point that no one book will give the entire truth of a person and also his near and dear ones. Those who were in the lime light or we can say stayed near the kings were well known in the books whereas those who stayed away ,might has missed it.I can relate to this as I have read such this in Hoysala history also. Many of the well known books written about King Vishnuvardhana talked about him his ruling and how his first wife helped him in his ruling. And many said she didn't had any kids and her own sister (adopted daughter of her parents) Lakshmi;'s son became the next ruler. But when I read the entire history by some other wroters, only then I realized that infact she had 3 sons and 1 daughter but since she had given promise to her mother in law that she will not give any pain or mental tension, she had asked her kids to stay away from the ruling and one more major fact was that Lakshmi was not her sister but the 4th wife of her husband and he married her just to satisfy saint Ramanujacharya, the vaishnava pankth leader.
Thanx for this interesting info. I am going through the Sangam Age of South Indian History right now. And, very interesting anecdotes are present there. As you said. Hoyasalas and Chera rulers are not much known to me. But, was reading on Chola Kings. 😊
BTW, i have updated about MA's 2nd son on my thread. 104912741
