AUNTY??? That word doesn't suit Paro at all!!!! đ˛
The reason the SWs are there is because of the newspaper article which said that Rudra forced Paro to be witness, did all the wedding rasams with her in public, and then once she testified, he did not carry out his promise to marry her, and wanted to throw her out of the house.
So the SWs actually came to check whether he had married her at all ... and now they are seeing that since they are married, was it only because of the witness issue, or is it a proper marriage, and he is treating her properly. It's less because of the domestic violence angle and more about a BSD officer misusing his position. That's why his colonel is so insistent that Rudra convince the women that he is committed to the marriage and to Paro.
At least, that's the way I read it. Most victims of domestic violence DO try to hide their wounds, and pretend everything is all right, but in that case a social worker is really helpless to do anything.
