Maharana Pratap is a show about Pratap. Definitely all who fought him and opposed him are villains of the show - and the manner in which tele soaps portray their villains is thru exaggeration. And what better than show Akbar as the blackest to build up MRP and his fight against Akbar!!! These are tactics used by makers who lack ethics in portrayal of characters.

We may criticize many things about our show but one thing that I am very proud and happy about is that Maharana Pratap is given a lot of respect.

Pratap may be an enemy of Akbar but in his depiction in this serial he is shown as kind, brave and a chivalrous man. Just because a character is an enemy in the show does not mean that he should not get the respect he deserves, especially great people like Akbar and Pratap.

And when serial makers take short cuts for small time gains, it is reflected in the ratings. Maharana Pratap and Jodha Akbar are both historical serials but as far ratings go they may as well belong to different planets.
