The evergreen actor says no to guest appearance in Khan's next film, Om Shanti Om Nahin! Dev Anand Evergreen actor Dev Anand must be one of the very few actors to have turned down a role in Shah Rukh Khan's next production, Om Shanti Om, directed by Farah Khan. According to an industry source, "Farah was keen to take Dev Anand for a role in OSO as other industry stalwarts like Subhash Ghai, Rishi Kapoor and Mithun Chakroborty have played themselves in the film. They have all been a part of the (flashback) '70s half of the movie. But Dev saab politely refused saying he has never done a special appearance before and has always done main leads." Dev Anand, when contacted, says, "Farah Khan called me and said she was inviting stars to play themselves as a part of a film sequence. I had to decline the offer, as I have never played such a role before. I don't want to break my tradition by doing guest appearances. I have always functioned alone. I told her to give my good wishes to Shah Rukh. I wished them all the best and hope they make a great film." Busy with Charge Sheet Please Say Yes: Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan Currently, Dev Anand is busy with the casting of his next film, Charge Sheet. "I want to take good actors and people who will go along with the project emotionally. Charge Sheet is a murder mystery. Contrary to common perceptions, it has nothing to do with the Jessica Lal case but is based on corruption in the police department. The film is totally fictional and yet identifiable with today's times." "I have completed 61 years in the film industry. I joined films in 1945 and the book reflects my own growth as a man, director and producer. I have seen this country grow and know what has been happening in all these years."

Yeah Dev Anand should be more realistic and change with times. And what is so difficult about guest roles, he is saying he has never done it before well here is your chance a new challenge, infact isn't playing yourself the most easiest thing in the world.
It is weird, but it is his choice. 😕
