Slowly and steadily, actor Arjun Kapoor is turning out to be a heartthrob in his own right. The 28-year-old has now opened up about his love life.
Before Arjun made his acting debut in Ishaqzaade, and before Salman Khan prodded him into turning an actor, he was a roly-poly 140 kg fatso working as an assistant director in Bollywood. It was in those days he was rumoured to have dated Salman's younger sister Arpita Khan.
Now, in a freewheeling interview with the Times Of India, Arjun Kapoor has confessed that he dated Arpita and also admitted that it was she who broke up with him.
"My first and only serious relationship so far was with Arpita Khan. We started seeing each other when I was 18 and it lasted for two years. I was also already attached to Salman bhai, but it was during the shooting of Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya' that our relationship started. When we started dating, I was scared of Salman bhai and went and told him and the entire family as I wanted them to know from me first. They were very kind about it. He was taken aback, but he respects people and relationships," Arjun Kapoor is quoted as saying.
He added that after Arpita broke up with him he was confused about what the future held for him.
When quizzed if he is indeed dating his 2 States co-star Alia Bhatt, Arjun said, "No, I am not dating Alia. We are friends and got to know each other while filming 2 States. She is super fun...She is someone I can rely on and is very attractive."
2 States is slated to hit theatres on April 18. Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor have been travelling to several states and cities to promote the film.
