Actually this has been my opinion on this ever since this debate began 😃
Its still a better option to remake south movies rather than remaking the old classics of BW and ruining them for the audience ala Don, Agneepath and Zangeer etc😆

Even Bollywood movies are re-made in South . But most of them are good movies .
The sad part is that Bollywood remakes only entertainers and some crappy movies (the ones from Prabhu deva) with non-sense translation. 🤢🤢

Then you sir have no taste, no offence 😉. Beauty is as beauty does, but Dhanush has more talent in the smallest part of his little finger than Imran will ever have. People like Mammoooty, Mohanlal, Kamal are stalwarts in acting. Sivaji Ganesan was not much to look at, but he would make you weep with the way he would act and say his dialogues. I grew up on them, heck even Rajnikanth who has Rajni style and not acting is worth way more than the boring wooden boys of BW.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I would take someone who looks like a Nagarjuna or a Vikram over all the pretty boy plastic actors in BW.

LOL! So she has no taste because she doesn't like*ugly* actors? It's a just a different POV. I always wondered what is this rage factor that follows these SI actors. I watched one of Mohanlal's movies and it was nothing great. His acting was pretty average.

What I don't like is how SI actors are always put on a pedestal versus Bollywood. Bollywood has its own charm. Both industries are great in their own right. They make movies according to the markets they cater, I wouldn't say one is superior than the other even when it comes to acting; Bollywood has its gems.

And LOL @ Danush. Dude is strictly *OK*, he's charming but nothing great.

I didn't know South Indian films are not considered for the Oscars. But after Googling Mohanlal all I can say is.. thank god for that.

I mean, I would never want ^^^ such men to represent India on any global entertainment awards. Call me shallow all you want, but he is not even average-looking... just plain ugly.

^^umm...why generalize? its not as if the entire south industry consists "ugly people"...if there are mohanlal, rajnikanth etc who are in their 50s and 60s who can be termed as "ugly" therez also plenty of well presented younger actors like surya, prithvi, mahesh babu, vikram, rana, prabhas, karthi, siddharth etc...

...in any case, thats really inappropriate to say that an industry deserves to be shunned or demmed unworthy of representing the country internationally based on frivolous issues like THAT...is irfaan khan the hottest guy around?..is A.R.Rahman as charismatic as singers and musicians from the west? ...um NOPE...neither is someone like ilayaraja... but they are still extremely worthy candidates to represent the country because of their talent...rahman performed at the oscars and ilayaraja at the budapest symphony orchestra and both made us proud...i dunt see any reason why people like mohanlal or dhanush or mamotty shouldnt...considering these actors regularly pick up national awards for the kind of work they do in their movies (mohanlal and mammotty and kamal hassan have multiple NA best actor awards...not to mention the Padma Sris.)., they are absolutely worthy to represent the country...no one cares abt how one looks on the red carpet or their success with the fashion police when they have such credentials to back them up...

and please, "such men"...? that is such an offensive way to refer to them...and whats their crime? being ugly...

So basically if a person is ugly (according to just you) they shouldn't be considered to represent India, their own country in a global platform, even if they are talented in their field. 😕 Shallow is putting it mildly. You are actually implicating and encouraging discrimination which in this day and age is plain stupid and ignorant.

Dhanush might be bad looking but he is extremely talented than almost all handsome actors .⭐️ Looks - they can be changed by make -up . 🥱
I always wonder why Ilayaraaja was never given an Oscar or something . His music is so scintillating . Its just that those songs belonged to Indian Cinema and not Hollywood . A R Rahman would have not received an Oscar if Slum Dog Millionaire was not an English Movie .
