I have yet to see that TRPs have been published but rumor is rampant in the fandom that it is 1.5 for this week, for last week's episodes. But that's hardly a reason to panic, to get upset and say Vivian's re-entry in Madhubala is a failure.
The man just entered the show last week. Give him and the new set of writers some time to build up the story. Given the mess the previous maestros created, even a Superstar like Shah Rukh Khan would need some time to turn around the disaster.
There are several reasons why TRP is low:
1) It's IPL Season - You know very well many of the cricketeers are opting to focus on games instead of watching the show. Colors TV is well aware of it too. They won't shut down Madhubala, which has become a brand because it is performing poorly during a season that tends to generate low numbers.
2) Promotions - Both channel and PH need to promote the show beyond social media. So we should keep asking them to show more promos and even ask for DVD to be invited together for a promotional event. Many TRP generating viewers are not part of social media and many of them stopped watching a few months ago. So encourage both channel and PH to reel in these lost viewers. These TRP generating viewers should know that our beloved DVD are back together again to rock Madhubala.
3) Impatience - The new track just started beginning of last week and many have already written it off. As I said before, this is a new team of writers and giving them less than 2 weeks to prove their mettle is just wrong. This may be a continuation of Madhubala, but its Season 2 and should be treated like a new show. We know that almost all new shows take a few months to build up their viewers and generate high TRPs. I have already done a post last week regarding different options AS and Co. and explore once they get into the meat of the story. Several articles have also been published recently that suggests that there are twists ahead in the story. So just as I said last week, keep calm and watch Madhubala.
4) Stop the Blame Game - Stop blaming each fan group for failing TRPs. Just today alone, I have seen accusations made by DDians that VDians are lazy, not watching and ergo not contributing to TRPs. Likewise, I have seen many VDians say that DDians have stopped watching and therefore are not contributing to the TRPs. Right smack down in the middle of this Clash of Titans are DVDians. Now we have been reduced to just few fools who just wanted to recreate DVD Magic. How does this blame game help us help Madhubala? None whatsoever. We need to be united. Instead of blaming each other, encourage each other to watch Madhubala during Primetime.
This is going to be a bumpy, rollercoaster ride for the next few weeks. But hold on tight because there's light at the end of the dark tunnel. We will get higher TRPs once IPL is over, no doubt about it!
