yaaro old article but look ami's resolution so nice to see that both ami and amit want to do some thing for the poor children..wonderful resolution of her..just see it

New year resolution? What's that?

Our correspondents asks around tellytown and receives a mixed response

It's common practise for everyone before or soon after the new year to make pious resolutions: I will do this, I will not do that... Some follow it. Some don't. Some clean forget. Each one to his or her own. Or, as the saying goes, resolutions are meant to be broken. Just like everywhere, tellytown has people who want to follow what they resolve, some who don't and others who don't believe in resolutions at all. Here is what some of them have to say:

Starting with Nikki Aneja, Dr.Simran of Astitva: ''As a teenager, I believed in resolutions. It was more to keep yourself disciplined. But not as you grow older. I just take things as they come.'' On the other hand, we have the young and talented Ami Trivedi who plays Kituu in Kituu Sabb Janti Hai who has made a resolution that she will lose some weight and stay fit, come what may. ''I have made resolutions earlier and succeeded in keeping them but they haven't been difficult ones,'' she laughs and adds, ''This year I want to do good work, earn lots of money. I dream of adopting a child or sponsoring a child. I hope all of it happens.'' Sumit Raghavan of Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai does not believe in resolutions and has always taken life as it comes. ''But, yes, I will try and do things and complete things that needed to be done. I don't have anything like a new year resolution though,'' admits Raghavan. Apna original Mihir, Amar Upadhyay, made a very strong resolution quite a few weeks before 2006 and has so far succeeded in keeping it. ''I have quit alcohol completely. I was quite a regular with two drinks but I have given up completely. It's already a month now - I am also going to get back into shape,'' he vows. That's great and we hope he proves the famous line wrong. Juhi Parmar aka Kumkum is pretty happy the way her life is going and has no resolutions and doesn't believe in them either. 'Whenever I tried it's never happened,'' she reveals with an abashed smile. Vandana Pathak, Meenakshi of Hum Paanch who had us in splits as Jayshree of Khichdi has also decided to cut down her weight. ''I have already started to lose weight. I will exercise strictly and follow a strict diet,'' she says. Sonal Sehgal who starred in Hotel Kingston, like many others, feels resolutions are made to be broken or forgotten. ''I am going to take life and each day as it comes and try to rectify things then and there. Resolutions are hard to put in practice.'' And lastly, Karisma Tanna (of Palkhi fame) has no resolutions and believes that if you want to do something you can do it any time. ''Why only when there is a New Year?'' she asks. That's one question nobody has an answer to.
