A Walk In the Rain - OS
It was one of the longest evenings that anyone could remember. The weather was windy and the rain refused to stop. For some people rains meant happiness but for some it also symbolized gloominess. One such man was walking all alone lost in his own thoughts and oblivious to the fact that we was drenched and shivering. He was walking aimlessly with his eyes staring at the wet road and unaware that he was in the middle of the street and not at some pavement. A car suddenly stopped in front of him and the driver yelled at him to move away. With this sound the man who was none other than Zain Abdullah broke free from his thoughts and looked at the driver. The driver felt a little intimidated by him when he saw Zain's bloodshot eyes and the look of anger and despair on his face. The driver politely then suggested to Zain to move away as it could be dangerous. Zain didn't pay any attention and walked away along the same path. To a stranger it would seem as if Zain was on a suicide mission but he was on a mission alright a mission to right his wrongs.
Zain's feet took him to the nearby mosque and he suddenly became aware of his surroundings. A tear found its way on his left cheek and he kneeled down to pray. Zain prayed after the longest time he could remember. He closed his eyes and felt at peace there, the inner turmoil inside him was at rest for now and he felt a connection with God. With this his cluttered thoughts became clearer to him, he closed his eyes and he could only visualize one face. The face was smiling and laughing, and soon the smile on the face turned to a frown and instead of happiness there were tears all over that face. A lighting outside jolted Zain, he opened his eyes and immediately screamed out Aliya. He started remembering the good time he had spent with her, all the good memories the jokes they had shared, and the innocent fights they had. The good memories then paved the way to the bad ones and the last one being the week before on a similar rainy night like this one. He felt immense pain on how he could recall every single detail of that day, how they both had a fight due to a misunderstanding and how he had told her in anger to leave the house, and how she didn't fight back but instead packed her bags. He also didn't stop her even once and let her go alone to the station without even saying goodbye. He recalled Aliya's final look before leaving and it broke his heart into a million pieces. Before 24 hours had passed he started regretting his actions, he tried so hard to call her but she didn't answer. Then dad told me to give her a few days and think that she has gone to spend some time with her parents.
