The stage was set. For a normal guest, it was one of the most spectacle sight ever. Beautiful white lilies crossed with pink carnations hanging all over the garden like vines falling from the roof. Little fairy lights peeking out from somewhere between them. Beautiful princess love seat type swing right in middle of the stage studded with vibrant colorful roses, almost making one believe that it was made up of those flowers. And white and pink rose shaped seats for all the lovely guest who were due to arrive to bless the to-be-couple. And right at the entrance there was the board that spelled-
"GEET weds MATTHEW" *No beating me!! Beatings allowed only at the end of the story!!*😆
In short everything was absolutely perfect, but as Ruchs says😉, Precise perfection is an illusion.' And that was actually the biggest truth that marred the actual beauty of the whole dream like wedding.
Nope! It was not that the bride and groom were unhappy with the alliance nor there was some stupid daily soap type clichd problem with the parents. Everyone including the bride and the groom were super happy (though they were more nervous than happy!!!) but the problem was that this wedding was just not-meant-to-be.
GEET's Home
"GEEET. How long will you take??? Haaye Babaji kya karoon main iss ladki ka???" Geet's mother grumbled standing below the stairs waiting for the bride who was already 2 hours late.
"Ufff! Kya Maa. Am the bride. Agar main hi late nahi hongi toh achchha thodi lagega!!!" Geet came down winking at he mom. She was looking nothing less than an angel dresses in a beautiful white gown with a cute red ribbon belt in the middle, making her look out of the world!!!
Looking at her ONLY daughter dressed in the bride's outfit brought tears to her mom's eyes. She was never that emotional types but this was one moment that never fails to bring wetness to mother's eyes!!!
"Maa!! Melvina aa rahi hai na???" Geet questioned her mom while adjusting her gown.
"Haan beta! Her flight has just landed. In fact she has even started directly for the wedding venue. And yes, before you ask me has confirmed that she has changed into the dress you gave for her at the airport!!!" Rano told her daughter while making her sit comfortably in the car as she remembered that she forgot to call MAAN!!
WEDDING VENUE
The priest had arrived and the place was filled with guests who were in awe of the whole wedding setting. Matthew was looking as handsome as ever in his 3-piece suit. He was calmly sitting in the front row with his friends waiting for his bride's car to arrive. Though he had this jittery feeling too!!!
Suddenly there was a lot of commotion heard outside. It seemed there was some problem as there were loud voices coming from outside. Everyone Including Matthew rushed there only to see a heart-stopping sight!
Matthew stood flabbergasted!! There stood Geet, his bride-to-be hands in hands with his...OMG!!! Geet was in arms of Maan!! His Best Enemy!!!
"What is happening over here???" Shouted Matthew's best friend Adi!!
"Chill Adi!! Don't be so surprised!! BTW meet Maan, my HUSBAND!!!" Geet proudly announced which was followed by several gasps. The biggest one was on Melvina, who had just arrived a few minutes back and stood electrocuted at her place seeing all this drama.
"Rano mom what is this??" Matthew asked calmly. In fact, it seemed he was NOT very surprised!
"Uff Matt bete, ek toh you guys made me involved in this drama and now you are questioning me?? This is heights!!" Rano grumbled and left the place after stomping her foot.
"Yeh sab kya hai Geetu??? Tumne Matt ke saath itna bada dhoka kiya???" Mel asked her best friend cum soul sister with tears in her eyes. She still couldn't believe that her Geet could do such a thing that too with HER Matt!!!
"Mel, calm down!! Shhh!! Don't cry..." Maan kept his hand on Mel's shoulder trying to calm her down!!
"Oyeee!! This was not a part of our drama!!" Shouted Matt while slapping off Maan's arms from Mel's shoulders and gathering her in his arms while showing big big eyes to Maan!!!
"Peace brother!!" Maan chuckled while raising his hands in mock surrender!
"KOI MUJHE BATAYEGA KI YEH HO KYA RAHA HAI????" Shouted Mel while getting away from Matt's arms. She was hell confused!!
"Uff meri tubelight shona!!! You still didn't get it??? Maine tujhe itne hints diye still??? Uff!! Okies!! Maybe for starters, look at our dresses!!" Winked Geet.
That was when everyone noticed- Geet and Mel were both dressed in IDENTICAL dresses. The only difference was Mel's dress had beautiful net flowers running across the shoulder and covered her shoulders while Geet's shoulders were bare!!!
"You mean... you mean..." Mel stuttered!!
"Yes meri sweety. Everything was planned!! Why don't you look up???" Geet suggested!!!
And Mel did just that, only to see a big board covering the previous one which said-
"Please accept me as your BIRTHDAY GIFT!!!"
She looked down to see Matt sitting on his one knee holding a beautiful solitaire and ruby ring in his hand.
"I am never good with words dear. But I just want to say that without you there is no Matt! Ever since we became childhood buddies, I felt that ours was more than a friendship and when I realized that I may lose you to someone someday, seeing your parent's searching grooms for you, I finally knew!! Sweetheart, I love you from the bottom of my heart!! Will you accept me in your life forever as your BIRTHDAY GIFT????" He finished with a cute pout on his lips making Mel's lips curl into a beautiful smile that disappeared almost immediately.
"But.. But... Your wedding with Geet???" Mel asked in a choked voice...
"Uff it was all a ploy my birthday girl. You were so adamant that you wont come back from UK and we knew that only emotional blackmail could get you here so me and Matt decided all this drama and see now you are finally here! Ufff didn't you think once that its too much of a coincidence that Matt is getting married to ME that too on YOUR birthday!!!!" Geet explained and Mel's mouth became a perfect O'.
"You did all this... I hate you guys!! I hate you..." Mel shouted!!😡
"Please can you postpone the hate and say a Yes??? My knees are paining a lot!!" Matt made a baby face..😆
"And why do you think will I say a Yes??" Mel said very sternly making everyone numb for a second!!😲
"Because you LOVE ME" Matt said confidently with a 100000000 watt smile making Mel's heart melt who herself got on her knees and hugged the life out of him!!!
Everyone cheered for the sweet couple and there were only cheers no jeers, while Maan hugged Geet from behind making her snuggle more cozily to him.
"So Mrs. Khurana, now you are happy??" He whispered in here ears..
"Very!!!" Geet replied and pecked his cheek lovingly!!
A few minutes later the guests finally got to witness the dream vows between the dreamy couple.
"I DO"
"I DO"
And thus finally Mel became MRS. MELVINA PREECE!!! 😉
And thus one more heavenly couple finally got tied in the beautiful knot of matrimony. As they say- "Couples are made in heaven!!!"😳
