EK ANOKHI KAHAANI - Part 18

Shlok reached office. He parked his car and while leaving the parking area saw Aastha there along with Aakash and Shruti. Aastha was chatting and laughing on some joke cracked by Aakash. Shlok didn't like that for some reason. Mansi was waiting for Shlok to come at the reception as she wanted to discuss something with him. But she was confused to see Shlok walk in the opposite direction.
Shlok went towards Aastha and the other two. Looking at Aastha, he said "Aastha! I want to see you in my cabin right now!"
All three became serious. "Yes Sir!" said Aastha. Shlok left.
"Hope his mood is good!!" wished Aastha, looking as Shlok walked away.
"Go now!!" said Shruti.
"All the best!!" said Aakash.
"Thank thanks!! I need that!" said Aastha as she hurried behind Shlok.
Shlok went to his cabin directly. Aastha followed. As Aastha walked past the reception, Mansi called her...
"Aastha!! Sign!" reminded Mansi.
Aastha quickly signed in the daily register and went to Shlok's cabin. She knocked on the door.
"May I come in Sir?" she asked.
"Come in...!" came the reply.
Aastha went in, a bit nervous.
"You called me, Sir?" she said.
"Uhh... yes... yes!" replied Shlok. He began thinking what to say now 'cause he himself didn't know why he had called Aastha. Just because she was with Aakash?!
Aastha waited for Shlok to speak.
"I...I want the event-report by day after tomorrow..." he managed to say.
"Yes...Sir! You have already told that..." said Aastha, confused.
"Have I?" Shlok pretended not to have remembered that. "Oh okay! That's what I wanted to tell you!"
"Okay Sir!" said Aastha and left the cabin.
"He had called me to tell me about the report?!! Again?!" wondered Aastha and she went to her work.

Niranjan, Anjali and Sojal were having lunch. Niranjan's phone began ringing. He was very happy to see the caller ID.
"Yaar Ajinkya!!!" he said gladly, "How are you? Long time...!!"
And the call went on for minutes as Anjali and Sojal tried to make out what conversation was going on between the two best buddies.
Niranjan was very happy after the call.
"Aaj ka din toh bohot achha hai, aap ke jigri dost se jo aapki baat hui...!!" said Anjali. Today is a good day...!
"Oh yes, today is a good day indeed!! Ajinkya and Aditi are coming to Pune next month!!" declared Niranjan with a big smile.

Two days later, Aastha, with the help of her team-mates, completed the report. Shlok asked her to give the post-event presentation. Aastha had prepared well as usual. Everyone appreciated her and the team. And later, Rahul took over the mic to announce something. This was a special announcement. He announced that for her brilliant performance, the company had decided to give Aastha a bonus amount as reward. Everyone applauded. Aastha just couldn't believe it.
Niranjan handed over the token and the memento to Aastha.
Who would decide all this? Shlok ofcourse...!! Aastha glanced at Shlok as she recieved the award from Niranjan. Shlok just smiled as he clapped.
Shlok also announced that Aastha was chosen as the event-head for an upcoming event.
Aastha was on cloud nine!! "Is all this a dream??!!!" she wondered. But it wasn't. She was very happy.

The work on new project soon began. The team was different this time except for Avinash (Avi) and Rutuja (Dolly). Shlok was personally involved in this project as it was an important one.

One day, some of the team members were discussing the project preceedings with Shlok. Aastha was there too. Just then Avi came there. Aastha noticed him coming. He looked at Aastha in the usual romantic way as he walked in. Aastha was signalling him not to say anything stupid. Shlok noticed Aastha. He was confused and turned to see whom she was signalling to. Avi, not at all noticing Shlok, said to Aastha, "Kya haal hai Jaanemann?!!" in his usual style.
Shlok was shocked. Aastha was embarrassed. The others giggled. Shlok was very angry, but jealous more.
"Ahem ahem!!" Ahlok cleared his throat on purpose. And then Avi realised that Shlok was there too. He just felt like hiding his face somewhere. Shlok just looked at Aastha and left.

Here, no one had told Shlok anything about Ajinkya and Aditi. But Varad and Sojal couldn't stop thinking of it.
"We need to indirectly find out what Shlok wants..." said Sojal, as Varad and she prepared to sleep. Varad once again confirmed whether Kavya was asleep.
"Yes... we need to know it for sure whether there is actually something like what we are thinking..." he said.
"But how?!" said Sojal.
"We need to figure out a way... And we need to know it before Ajinkya Kaka and Aditi come to Pune" said Varad.
"Maybe there is nothing like what we are think..." said Sojal.
"Whatever it is... we need to be sure!!" replied Varad.

Next day, Aastha went to Shlok's cabin. Shlok still seemed upset over Avi's statement the day before. Aastha apologized for that...
"Sir, sorry for whatever happened yesterday... I promise it won't happen again..." said Aastha in a low voice.
Shlok just looked away in anger.
Aastha tried to explain... "Sir Avi is used to..." Shlok interrupted her.
"Avi?!! His name is Avinash as far as I know...!!" said Shlok sternly.
Aastha couldn't understand why Shlok had a problem with that.
"But Sir, everyone calls him 'Avi'... Infact he himself insisted me on calling..."
"Whatever!!" Shlok cut in.
Aastha couldn't understand Shlok's behaviour. Infact, Shlok himself was unaware of the reason.
"Anyways, have you brought the details we needed?" he asked.
"Yes Sir!" said Aastha, taking out the file from her sachel.
Both discussed about it for a long time. They realised it was lunch time when Riya came in to keep some register.
Aastha stood up.
"Where are you going?!!" asked Shlok.
"To the canteen to have lunch, Sir!" replied Aastha.
"Don't you get your tiffin from home?"
"I do Sir, but I have it with my friends at the canteen..." told Aastha.
"Friends?!!!"
"Yes Sir... Shruti and Aakash!" said Aastha.

After the day ended, Aastha met Shruti and Aakash as usual at the parking.
"Aha!! Lunch with Shlok Sir in his cabin, haan?! Kya baat hai!!" teased Shruti. "Kuchh toh chakkar hai... Kyun Aakash?!"
Aakash did not say anything. He just smiled.
"Stop it yaar Shruti!! There's nothing like that!!" said Aastha. "He made me wait because we had to discuss about the project..." explained Aastha.
"Okay okay..." said Shruti.
The three then left as Shlok watched them drive away.

Rahul was observing Shlok since many days.
"Ye Shlok ko ho kya gaya hai? What is wrong with him?" he wondered.
