Has your Bollywood debut lived up to your expectations?
I think its been better. I thought people would rip me apart once Nishabd came out. I thought they might say my legs were not toned enough or that my acting was not good enough. I really expected some harsh criticism also because RGV (Ram Gopal Varma)'s previous actresses have been ripped apart. But thankfully none of that happened. They ripped apart the film but thankfully spared me. Though I wish they had liked the film too. But then as my mom says, "Wouldn't you prefer people like you and not the film or that they like the film and not you."
But were you hesitant about making your debut in an unconventional film like Nishabd?
No, because my mom said that whatever be the fate of the film, it will go down in history. She said that Mr Bachchan wouldn't do this kind of a role ever again so people will remember it. And I was kicked that in my first film itself I'll be getting scope to perform.

Normally Ram Gopal Varma's heroines become marginalized, in the sense that the other big banners do not come knocking. Does that scare you?
I've never felt that. Even before Nishabd was released, I was offered Sanjay Gadhvi's Kidnap. There were a few other offers too. I was surprised because even I have observed what you just said. Thankfully it hasn't happened. Maybe it was because my film was with Mr Bachchan or that RGV didn't announce any other film with me but I'm glad its not happened.

So what is the status with Ram Gopal Varma?
See, he had told me quite early on that he's busy with Sholay and Sarkar 2. I had prepared myself that for the next two years I won't be doing any more films with him. That hasn't changed.

But what do you make out of his statements that he will never be working with you again?
I don't know what has happened. I never expected RGV to be so harsh. But to be fair to him, he hasn't said I hate you to me on my face. I can't think of anything that has prompted him to say this in the media. Maybe he's playing a joke on you guys.



Are you angry with Ramu?
I'm not angry rather I'm amused. First the stories came out that he was buying me a house. I was in London when the media started calling me about this and I was like, what, where. It's very rare for anyone to buy a house for anyone else in Mumbai. And then the stories came out that I was thrown out of the RGV camp. So I'm a little confused.

Are you upset with him?
I'm shocked that he said he'd never work with me. Nobody in this industry should say never.

But you haven't tried to talk to him about it?
I spoke to him a couple of days back and exchanged nice messages. I was waiting for him to bring this topic up but he didn't so even I didn't.

So what's next?
I'll be signing something very exciting in the next 10 days. You will hear it very soon.

Is it Boney Kapoor's remake of Pokhiri opposite Salman Khan?
I'm not saying anything about it.

The buzz is that Salman Khan is recommending you?
That'll be really cool if it were to happen but his girlfriend would be really pissed off. I don't know Salman at all.

What's this bag fetish that you have?
It started off when I was a little girl and was working Saturdays at a Gucci store in London. I lasted only two weeks in the job and then I got bored but in that brief time also I managed to sell some very expensive bags to the Arabs. So I promised myself that for each bag that I sold in the store, I would buy one for myself. It became like a childhood ambition and today I have some 120 bags or so.

Is it true that you expressed your displeasure with the way you were photographed in Nishabd?
It's absolutely false. I loved myself in the film. If I could look like that every day, I'd die. Maybe I could have put more lip-gloss but on the whole, I was fine.

What do you think is your most discerning feature?
I don't like my lips. I wish they were bigger like Angelina Jolie's lips.

Tell me the last Hindi film you saw and wished you were a part of?
I loved Aishwarya Rai's role in Dhoom:2. I can really pull it off especially since I have the accent as well.

How is the response to your video, Take Lite, been like?
Pretty encouraging especially since I sang and produced it myself. Since I'm from London I tried to get an international feel in the song. I wanted it to have a Britney touch. But the outfit really scared me. I asked for it to be like this but when I wore it, it scared me. Thankfully it held well but the reactions I got were overwhelming.

Interesting...seems RGV has a problem with all his actors(xcept the Bachchans😉) esp his heroines...with the endire B-Khandaan sitting in his pocket u cant write him off😆
