How has Arjun Rampal lasted in Bollywood?

How has he survived. When he appeared many did aswell. It was the model turned actor but now they have virtually all disappeared but Arjun Rampal.

Well he first survived solely based on his looks and when that's wasn't enough he become SRK's toy boy and now he's jobless and probably looking for a new sugar daddy!

His acting is very Subtle and serious. Not really suited for Bollywood movies that depend on over exaggeration of expression. He rarely if ever dances in his films. When he first started he did. But he aint a dancer and most likely was forced.

I find it also hard picturing him in comedic roles. He would make a good villian. He seems quite dark in sentiment but directors have rarely caste him as such because of his looks. There are people who say he's handsome but he ain't the only one so what has made him last all these years.

He was packaged as the leading man but he's more suited in being the Villain. He's just seems too serious for Bollywood.

Arjun is a hottie. I like the way he plays his characters. Like you said subtle. He's not OTT like most BW superstars. His style of acting is similar to how actors in American films act. (No I don't mean he's supremely talented like Hollywood A listers!)

I agree. He's one OVERRATED actor. They call Madhuri overrated, but Madhuri was a complete package during her prime - she still is! But ever since Arjun Rampal entered the Hindi film industry (read Bollywood), his acting has been same all this while. He lacks the emotions that a mainstream actors should have.

But why only single out Arjun Rampal? There have been many more and many more in the making. The ones that are getting there are Imran Khan and Ranveer Singh.

He's not subtle, but a wooden face. Suits certain serious roles like Raajneeti, Rock on etc but that's it. Anyways, shouldn't last long now given his lack of talent now that he has pissed off HR and SRK. His eyes look terrible these days so not that hot either. Must be due to drugs and alcohol.

Because he was different. And although Bollywood believes in producing the same type of piece of crap all the time sometimes people need a little variety. Maybe people like a subtle actor. Maybe people like someone who is actually taller than the actresses. Someone who gives of the brooding, dark handsome men vibe. and someone who doesn't have to work too hard to look rough.

He is completely wooden. His face suited the serious characters in Rock On and Raajneeti. Everyone thought that he is an intense actor. This is the sole reason he did well as a villain.
