It's a SOAP - not a platform for religious authenticity.
And I know very many Muslims - very devout Muslims - who do sajdah to saints, walis and pirs.

Please, lighten up.
If Hindus (a culture that majority of Indian soaps depict) started protesting every single thing, we would have to shut down the TV industry.

well said
if that was the case
many so called high trp raters would have been shut down

I completely agree with you. they have been portraying it all wrong. We know what our religion is, but what they are showing is so wrong on so many levels. Even if it's a soap, thousands of people watch it and our religion is being portrayed in a wrong way. People are getting the wrong message. and that's not right.

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Beintehaa never promised to serve as a blueprint for the proper depiction of Islam. It's a fictional show and for that reason, I am willing to roll my eyes and look past trivial issues. People have better means of acquainting themselves with the workings of Islam. All of which are better than a TV show.

I doubt other shows on TV portray Hindu practices correctly. I don't see people harping this string with other religions. Bits and pieces of the religion are taken to move the storyline forward. That is all.

And I say all this as a Muslim. I am willing to watch this story line pan out with batting an eye. So sue me.
