I don't know how CVs are going to move the story forward. Right now I am more interested in seeing them focus on Urmi standing up for herself and not bowing down to Samrat's tyranny and tantrums. Now that she has left his house I hope CVs focus on how she stands firm in her decision of not going back to him or that house - regardless of all the resistance that comes her way. Based on her Dad and Dadi's reactions yesterday - they are surely going to push Urmi to "let bygones be bygones" "all husband wife relationships have their ups and downs" and a whole slew of regressive commentary that force countless women in Urmi's predicament to bow to the pressures of family and stigma of society, swallow their self-respect, dignity and pride and go back and live a miserable life with a tyrant.
If they show this - a part of this process should be Urmi's personal growth - she's been a very sheltered girl from a conservative family married off at a relatively young age (if trisha is still studying and they are more or less the same age we can guess Urmi is early 20s) she's sheltered but she's not completely naive - she's proved that by standing up to the eve teasers and the cheating husband. Lets hope that they first focus on Urmi's personal growth and tapping into her inner strength and becoming her own person - not just a girl who blindly follows her family or husband - and has the courage to make her own decisions and stand by them regardless of what society says and her family/in laws say.
Once we see Urmi's character strong and assertive then if she decides to take her personal life forward and find a compatible mate - by all means - as long as they show that to be her decision not something she gets into because she's concerned about what society says and that her parents want her married off (again).
As far as the story going down the path of Pardes or Kankar - we'll just have to wait and watch. One thing is certain - based on Samrat's characterization thus far - regardless of who the new man in Urmi's life is ( Ishaan or a new person) he will try his best to sabotage that relationship. He's just that kind of person - if he can't have her I'm pretty sure he won't let anyone else have her - its all about the ego - its not because he just discovered his undying love for Urmi one morning.
As I mentioned before - I'm personally not in favor of Urmi and Ishaan love story regardless of how compatible they are - that's just my personal preference. This would just give Samrat more ammunition to sling mud on their budding relationship - it would just take him 2 seconds to start rumors about how they were having an "affair" while she was married to Samrat etc...more over if Urmi is going to move forward in life and start over - why be with someone who has ties to her life with Samrat - if I were Urmi and Ishaan were interested in me - everytime I see Ishaan I can't help but feel that horrid shadow of Samrat looming somewhere in the background.. In all honesty the Urmi-Ishaan angle can go either way - either it could be really good for Urmi as Ishaan knows first hand how Samrat is/was and can be that much more sensitive towards her or the Ishaan - Urmi angle would just give more fodder for Samrat to sabotage their relationship.
I guess we'll just have to wait and watch how that plays out but for now I'd like to see CVs focus on Urmi standing firm in her decision to end her marriage to Samrat.
