What makes us strong, makes us vulnerable.....

Our loved ones. The ones we hold near and dear, are our biggest weaknesses. And our biggest strengths too. Our love for them, gives us the courage to fight the biggest battles, and make us lose the smallest of skirmishes.
And when it comes to our family, especially our parents...lets just say they are God for most of us. You touch my parents, you touch me. You harm my family, you harm me. Nothing is more dear, more unconditional, more strong and unselfish than the bond between a parent and a child. That bond can make or break us. Our love for them and vice versa is the foundation of who we are. They are our backbones, and when we see them suffer, the pain, the agony is unbearable. Just like no parent can see their child in pain, equally, no child, small or adult, can bear their parents suffering. Its the biggest emotional loss in this world, a void that can never be filled, a pain that can never be shared.
Rudra and his Ranawat, they always had a special relationship. Two lost souls, two survivors of a ship wreck called life, hanging onto each other, in the stormy ocean of this world. They could never express what they felt, what was in the depth of their hearts, their outer gruff and rough veneer just skin deep. If either of them would have taken the time or trouble to scratch the surface, the shining love would have blinded one n all. Their love, respect, mutual support system was unique, cause no words were ever used, no assurances, no hugs, no expressions, yet it was there. Strong, solid, undefeatable, unbreakable, the father son bond, was always at the bottom of their lives. They had each other, to push, to pull, to drag, to carry, to shoulder, through the barren expanse they called life, and the only reason they both survived was, the other. And for Rudra, he is the only family he has, his last, very last vestige of affection, his last dying hope of adoration.
Today, Rudra is shattered. The biggest blow of his life. Till now he and us, had figured that the loss of his uniform, would be intolerable. But, today seeing his caustic father, lying on his death bed, gasping for breath, taught him the ultimate lesson. The value of loved ones. Their importance in our lives. And nothing can ever fill that void, or repair that damage. Why Rudra, we too belong to the same human category, who hardly and rarely bother to show our loved ones, how we feel about them. Our daily mundane routines hardly allow us to a spare a thought about how precious our near and dear ones are, or God forbid, a day ever comes when we will have to learn how to survive without them. Chilling..mind numbing?? But that's the truth.
If I put myself in Rudra's shoes, I would be as furious, as unreasonable as he is. My logic would go for a toss, my brains out the window, cause there are moments in our lives, when only the heart does the thinking. The brain suffers from paralysis. If our father, or mother, or family gets hurt so severely due to another's actions, our reactions would be no less than Rudra's. (Yes, Paro is innocent, and we know that...he doesn't!) Any expectations of trust or logic, or intuition from him are futile. In his situation, we would have been the same, illogical and revengeful.
And the same love today, acted as Paro Bai Sa's courage. Paro's affection for her late parents, made her fight back with a venom. She never had a chance to know them, enjoy their parental concern or pride, their attentions or their annoyance, and this very same loss, ultimate void, gave her the power to finally break free and fight back. Her love for her MamiSa, her Nandu Jija, gave her the strength to get up and push back. Her love for her village, made her come to terms with the bitter reality and make a resolve. Her love for her one and only friend, made her promise hell and fury for the beast, Tejawat. The loss of her parents, her sister, her mother like figure, her best friend...ultimately pushed her over the edge. Here the same love acted as her plus, her asset, her power to fight and in the end, win.
Or may be somewhere the beginnings of another kind of love gave her hope. The awakening of a different kind of respect and adulation for a hero, a savior, gave her the impetus to rise. Possibly a man, and his fearless stance, his principles, gave her the glimmer of new beginnings. His outstretched hand might be the reason, she decided to reach out and try and grasp happiness again. May be his presence made her see light at the end of the tunnel.
Love..for our loved ones...undisputably is the stongest emotion in this world...and it can be our biggest strength or our biggest weakness. Rudra today shattered due to this very sentiment while Paro picked up the pieces of her life and moved on due to this very same emotion.

Beautiful Post :)

I would be too in his place. Their relationship is indeed unique. Their indifference hides their love.

Sure valid point...the only hope and expection is that rudra does not dwell in this emotional puddle indefinitely...hopefully he collects himself soon enough to do some reasoning...which he is very much capable of.

no..he wont. Its not him. Once the shock wears off, his mind will start ticking and the smart and calculative officer we know, will be back.
