Chapter 27

It was quite late after the long eventful day when Ayesha knocked on Arjun's room,just to be called inside.Ayesha pushed the slightly ajar door and found her two seniors sitting inside the same room but at a distance in complete silence.Though they didnt speak but tensed enviorment inside the room indicated a heated argument that had taken place sometime back between them.

Rathore was sitting on the sofa checking something in his laptop while Arjun was half lying on the bed glaring angrily at his leg,or maybe somewhere else,indifferent to the presence of the other person in the room.

Both of them had bandages on their wounded legs and the few bruises elsewhere on their bodies had been treated too.They were taken to the hospital directly from the airport and since the wounds were not too deep to be kept on the hospital bed for long they were discharged after being treated.

Ayesha came inside followed by Shree and Sakshi.They had gone down for dinner and had just walked up to plan the next days work schedule.Since rathore and Arjun were injured their dinner was served in Arjun's room together to avoid any more damage to their bones and other too,as arjun was furious on sameer for some unknown reason.

Chotu was injured a bit to much,specially at his head and shoulder,so he was kept in the hospital for a some more time.He would be discharged next morning if the doctor finds it suitable.

Rathore looked up from the laptop screen while the three team mates came inside and took their seat.Arjun looked up at them and instantly returned back to his indifferent attitute picking up the pen beside.

'Shree,chotu ki security ke liye..'rathore asked shree but couldnt complete,shree cut him in between,

'sir,apne jaisa kaha tha,arrangements ho chuka hai,special security is kept on alert,but ill keep
a check on him personally too,'

'good shree,aur wo chip?kuch pata chala kya hai usme?'rathore asked again,

'i am trying sir,but..'shree gave a disappointed look which almost flared up rathore,

'kya matlab hai shree?tumhare liye ek code crack karna itna muskil to nehi ho sakta?whats wrong now?'rathore glared at him,

'nehi sir,but wo mere pas sare gadgets nehi hai,i need to run a encruption software to hack the type of code used and then i need to hack the main encrypted code,i need to upgrade the software for that,aur apne abhi tak usse..'shree informed scared to face an angry rathore,which made the other two chuckle.

Rathore kept silent sparing a glare at the two and started working on his laptop.Arjun was not showing any interest in the conversation though he was listening to each and every word keenly.He was waiting for the right question and then the appropriate answer.

Rathore took a few more minutes to work on his laptop while the other three sat silently looking at each other helplessly.Finally after a scary silence rathore spoke up,in his usual calm tone,

'software upgarde kar lena..i have given my approval,'he confirmed which made shree jump up from his seat with a huge smile,but sakshi pulled him back before he could jump on rathore and kiss him.

Rathore rolled his eyes and shook his head looking at his team members and looked at the laptop screen again.

'team we are going back tomorrow,'he started again and looked at the shocked but happy faces,

'dixit ko kal subah mumbai headquaters le jaya jayega.He will be presented in front of the higher authorities.DIG sir bhi wahi honge and they would decide on his fate.I have already send my report regarding the evidences and findings.Rawte we need to be there the next morning at DIG's office and in uniform,its an order and i dont want to argue on that again.'Rathore continued,though sitting his postures showing the authority he possesed and finally ended with a glare at arjun.

'But sir ab tak to sushma ko bhi pata chal gaya hoga,agar usne kuch kiya aur dixit ko..'ayesha asked him,

'It will be a secured transfer ayesha.Special security forces are assigned to guard the car where dixit would be taken.DIG sir khud arrange kar rahe hai,so there wont be much problem.Khatra hai isiliye dixit ko yaha nehi rakh sakte,he will be in our custody once the initial formalities are done.Aur tab hum usse interogate kar sakte hai,usse pehele nehi,'rathore replied with a glare pointed towards arjun,who looked away posing a 'dont-care' attitute.

'per sir,it could be late,'shree retorted back,

'we dont have a choice shree,but the latest time would be tomorrow evening,by that time we would be in mumbai to interogate him,'rathore replied,

'Shree N.Chauhan,jiski car ka number mila tha,pata lagaya unka,'arjun finally broke his silence,

'haan sir,wo abhi mumbai mein hi hai.Per last 12 days he was out of town in nagpur for some business deal.The car belongs to him but since he was out of town it was in the garage for servicing.I have taken down the address of the garage,we can check there once we get back to mumbai,'shree replied back,

'good aur wo aadmi jo wo gari chala raha tha?kuch pata chala uss tattoo se?'sakshi asked him,

'nehi abhi tak kuch pata nehi chala,chotu ne apne informer's ko bataya hai,but wo abhi hospital mein hai to..'shree stated,

'Rathore uss godown mein jo bhi mila wo..'arjun asked rathore,

'kal subah waha investigate karne jayenge.Waise sara maal forensic team ko bhej diya gaya hai.They are already working on it.As i have already informed,electronic bombs banaya ja rahe tha,lekin billa ke ilawa koi aur naam samne nehi aya,we need to search the place,shayad kuch aur mil jaye,'he informed

Arjun nodded along with others.Everyone went into complete silence suddenly thinking about the morning events.After a long awkward pause,Rathore nodded and stood up,holding onto the arm of the sofa for support.

'Team so we are going to the godown in the morning and then hum sab wapas mumbai ja rahe hai.Chotu agar thik raha to humare sath jayega warna kuch din baad.Tickets tumhe mail kar diye gaye hai,shree check kar lena,'

'sure sir,'shree said and started working on his laptop instantly,'kal 6 baje ki flight hai sir,'shree informed,

'fine to abhi rest lete hai,its quite late,kal subah fir milte hai,goodnight everyone,'rathore completed,

All of them stood up and turned to leave when rathore called them back again.

'Team aj tumlogo ne sab bohot acha kam kiya,good job..'he said stressing the last words and giving a small nod.All smiled at him and walked out.

Rathore picked up his laptop and limped to the door slowly.He opened the door to leave but stopped and looked back.Arjun was looking down lost in his thoughts.He turned a bit towards him.Arjun heard his footsteps stop and looked at him with a questioning gaze.Their eyes met but none spoke a word.Rathore turned back towards the door again and voiced out in his own authorative tone.

'well done rawte..'he walked out fast while arjun looked at him and nodded at his retreating back.

Ayesha was continuously trying to make a call but the network was fluctuating and before the call could get connected the network failed.She was getting irritated now and walked out of her room towards the main gate.She went outside all the time dialing a number repeatedly when she found four armed constables were guarding the hotel from outside.

After the initial attacks on them and then the arrest of dixit and the large consignments of bombs and bombing materials,had finally made the higher authorities to arrange for their security.

Rathore was speaking to one of them when he found ayesha coming out from the front gate.Ayesha looked at them again and looked back at him with a frown.Rathore understood her confusion and smiled at her.Ayesha took the hint and went away with her phone walking along the road away from the hotel.

It was sometime now,Ayesha was standing near the edge of the road from where the road had divided into three roads at different directions.She was muttering and cursing her phone all the time but finally getting frustrated,she picked it up to throw it when someone held her hand.She looked towards the hand already raising her other hand to show him her martial skills but stopped when a scared rathore looked at her with wide eyes.

She released her hand ashamed at her gesture and looked away keeping the phone back in her pocket with a heavy sign.Rathore felt it strange and asked her,

'kya hua ayesha?'

'kuch nehi sir,wo network,phone hi nehi lag raha,aur jab network thora thik hua to battery khatam ho gayi,'she replied with a pouted face,

Rathore smiled at the look on her face and sensing something was really urgent gave her his phone.

'lo baat karlo,'he forwarded the phone with a stern face,

She was ashamed and confused whether to accept the offer,but she was calling back home and it was important.She finally took it after a lot of hesitation and dialled the number.Rathore walked away leaving her alone with the phone.

Rathore was sitting on a large rock at the backward of hotel when ayesha came beside him,forwarding her hand with his phone.He took the handset back and raised a brow at her with a questioning gaze.

'thank you sir,'

Rathore nodded at her and remained silent looking down.Ayesha sensed his silence and tried to bring a conversation,

'sir ap soyenge nehi?bohot raat ho gayi hai,aur apko chot bhi...'

'tumhe kya puchna hai ayesha?'he asked her looking at a distance,but not at her,

'sir apko kaise..?'she looked surprised,

'bas pata hai,pucho...'he said looking at her,

'sir wo aziz...'before she could continue he raised a hand to stop her,

'yaha nehi,yaha ghutan si ho rahi hai,chalo kahi aur chalte hai,'he said and walked towards the parking.

He dropped inside the car taking the passenger seat and waited for ayesha to start the vehicle.She was confused but took the wheel and they drove towards the beach,all the time sameer guilding her the way.

They sat down on the sand.After a long pause when rathore still kept his silence ayesha spoke up,

'Sir mein apse pehele bhi puchna chahti thi per...apko kaise pata chala aziz hi anurag hai?'

'Anurag ka matlab janti ho ayesha?'he asked her looking at the breaking waves,

'anurag matlab...'ayesha was trying to analyis but she didnt know,

'eternal love,'sameer replied almost lost in his own thoughts,surprising ayesha,

'aur aziz matlab invaluable,'ayesha connected,looking at him with wide eyes,

'mein sushma ko bohot ache se janta hu ayesha,wo names aur names ki meaning ke bare mein bohot particular hai.Usse ye sab bohot pasand hai.pehele nehi socha tha,kabhi ye baat kam mein ayegi,but uss din wo list dekhte waqt achanak yaad aya aur meri guess sahi bhi ho gayi,'sameer explained her in a flat tone,

'lekin in sab se to sushma bohot zyada pareshan ho jayegi,aur agar isne kuch...'

'hamare pass abhi wait karne ke alawa aur koi option nehi hai ayesha,we need to wait for all the clues to speak their secrets,'

Ayesha nodded he was right.She smiled at him.She was actually amused to find the old cheif back in him.He is no longer the sameer who loved his SA and is disturbed with the presence of Sushma.

'smile kis liye ayesha?ghar wapas ja rahi ho isliye?tumhari beti to kafi khush hogi?'sameer asked her with a fading smile across his lips,

'haan wo to bohot khush hai,wish list barti hi ja rahi hai...per mein sirf uske liye nehi,apke liye bhi khush hu..'ayesha replied to him,

'mere liye?mujhe chot lagi iss liye?'sameer asked her instantly turning towards her with a smirk and confused expression all over his face,

Ayesha just nodded her head and stood up smiling confusing him more.

'chale sir,bohot late ho gaya,'she told him and turned on her heals to walk back to the car.

Sameer was confused at her gesture but neither did it hurt him nor did he wanna probe her further.Instead it curved his lips to a slight smile..

He stood up and walked back to car.The drive back was silent but the silence was soothing.Both retired for the night to begin the next day with a fresh morning.
