sareeta first i must say, i respect your pov ...

after watching the video here is my pov about gauri being selfless...

i will start from the beginning of this rishta of sg..

nikky did the dhoka by getting her married to shiv just to save his son from his bad kundali...selfish one here nikhila and later doing all in her power to destroy this relationship but call it destiny or god's wish shiv chose gauri as his life partner and moved on in life...

a sacred bond of marriage unite them as husband and wife..shiv accepted gauri as his wife and later this bond becomes more concrete with the arrival of the twins and shanti...now this rishta is of one as parents of three cute kids..

gauri has always put shiv happiness first and today feeling bad for the hurt and pain she gave him was justified...here she is not thinking about her ownself ,the pain and hurt she endured but more for the one she gave shiv and all due to that selfish woman nikhila...

if now she wants to save this rishta i think she has all the right to do so...not only shiv is related to her in this relationship but three cute babies..vowing to protect this rishta by exposing nikky is absolutely right for gauri to do so...

gauri being selfish so be it coz here its all about protecting her dream world which includes shiv and her three kids..a wife protecting her husband from the evilness of his mother and gauri as a devoted mother protecting her kids from a broken home...i think any woman as a wife and mother will be selfish in this situation and prevent any evil shadow to fall on her world...

btw sana love reading your pov and great analysis.. i totally agree with you ...

Sareeta Di… Aapki har baat sar aankhon par.

This is coming straight from me as I write so hope it makes sense.

Gauri is selfish you say, all right, accepted. But in terms of the word "Apne", I can identify two dimensions – Shiv and Gauri. A relationship, and lets say specifically the relationship of marriage as shared by SG, is formed by the consent of two. Hence, if Gauri is selfish, then her so-called husband is too nah? But lets look at it this way. A girl who had allowed herself to nurture a dream of blissful marriage, just like any other, arrives at a point in her life where that dream is crushed. At this stage, she had two choices – allow the shards to sting her eyes for the rest of her life, or accept fate and collect the remnants of the reverie and build anew. She chooses the latter, and utters not but a word of complaint for having been tricked into this relationship. Instead, she welcomes the new bond as such, that it becomes the foundation of her existence. Throughout the journey, several obstacles and glitches come by (Shyla-Daksh/ Vivan-Kaya/ Prasanjeet Episode), and she tackles each of these with the equal compatibility. We come now to her husband. A man of strange instinct. He speaks as though life to him comprises solely of his family and especially his wife, but then we can ask, "why the need for the picture in the cupboard?" He wishes to hold onto his relationship with Gauri as much as Gauri does, but he fails to confide in her. On the other hand, Gauri as always spoken the truth to him and has emerged right in the end. Today, she is doing all the same, and he cannot recognize it. I don't blame him, because she is asking him to observe his mother in a different light. Coming back to the point, if Gauri is selfish, then I think it to be only fair as her selfishness is rooted in the happiness of her family, the family she has attained through her husband. She has accepted all those relationships associated with that one, so is her selfishness to keep that one intact not justified? In all reality, I think it is impossible to be completely selfless, and for one like Gauri, her selfishness lies in the smile that forms on her face at seeing her loved ones happy.

So... Had I made much sense, because I just blew it from the top of my head😆

In any case, I love your posts and respect your POV. In all honesty, I found Gauri's dialouges repetitive today in a sense. I love her, but I want to see more action!

Cheers,

dc

Thank Sana, Khyaatee, Neetu, Sumana , for chipping in, and good lord, it seems like I have wrecked havoc jus mentioning my POV here havent I? 😊

Well , it does seem that the intention of the post was misinterpreted sadly. I have in no way, meant to degrade Gauri's character and or question her emotions.

Reading your POV's I was surpised that mine were no different, but were perceived so...

Agreed, I did not see the need for Gauri to be portrayed as the holier than thou figure, but that impression seems to have been seen having perculated into this discussion here as well although unintentionally, coz I certainly did not intend that...

I had an objection, with the single line, that spoke abt saving S-G relation first. More importantly had they shown it as a MOhter cheating her son... and destroying his life and Gauri doing it to make him realize what Nikhila, His Mother was doing to him would have redeemed Gauri in my eyes... rather than apna rishta... ( Neetu, even considering your POV, apna still gives a selfish tinge, the word apna itself, means we , me, and us .. in different context and when the word involves us and me, selfless cannot be considered at all) Which essentially , blew away the selfless aspect of Gauri to the winds that the Kreatives so desperately tried to create...

The character seems to have lost the selfless facet to it , that was once its strength...blame who? THe kreatives , I dont really care... but the charm is gone...
Its a story, at least the consitency is to be maintained...

I am sorry if comments were inappropriate , but it seems like Gauri is gonna be perceived as the Holier than thou , no matter what , and no matter ... how...

I jus do not wish to opine anymore on this aspect... I still hold my ground, but well it might as well seem that I am the only one seeing it that way..!

To be honest, I am jus well tired....!

Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for considering my post and chipping in your thoughts! I respect all your POVs ...thank you!

[Sana]: Arre... Perhaps my zukaam has been working my neurons way too much in the past few days and hence, I took your POV in a different angle than what it was intended to be. But I, by no means, would ever intend disrespect conflicting opinions. It's a free land baba, difference in perception is bound to happen na 😉~

Gauri being selfless will be detrimental for her children? How in the wise world did my POV reach this conclusion? I only said, that had Gauri said , she was doing for the sake of bringing the truth of a mother being evil and cruel to her old child would have made Shiv realize what he was losing and what he would gain... and that would only mean he would get back to his family.....

"For the sake of her selfless act, she let badi maa destroy their lives. Isn't that being selflish towards her own agenda in that case?"

My POV in no way intended on those lines at all, and I am terribly sad and upset that my POV has to be interpreted in such a ghastly manner. I take this as a cue to leave this discussion here and the forum as well, for no matter what I say or do , it always gonna be the same. My POV has been lost completely and even worse misinterpreted completely... and that is upsetting to say the least...

Sareeta

[Sana]: Well, I didn't mean to upset u.. Not in the least.. So sincerest apologies from my end if my content above was offensive to you as that was never the intention.. Perhaps I went too far ahead in interpreting what you meant instead of reading b/w the lines but in a nutshell, I see your points loud and clear but that's another aspect that I don't agree with them. But I am sure you're fine with that as I know you would never thrust your opinion now on others. As far as I know, that's not what you're dammit!

But I have to say this: why would u say that "this is your cue to leave the discussion and the forum, for no matter what you do or say, it is always going to be the same"? Arre.. I am glad that somebody here has the courage to bring out some thought-provoking discussions and I certainly posted in one after a loooooooooooooooonggg time. I know I am so much in awe of Gauri as a character that I don't tend to see any faults in her.. Well, That's not entirely true though.. There are times when I feel like banging my head against the wall but I blame the writers more so here than the character as they are the ones who are sketching the character to lose its sense of direction and morality that used to be so powerful once upon a time *sighs*. Anyhow, I hope you're feeling better.. If not, I can Fedex my famous danda for you and you could probably beat the crap out of Nikki baby for putting us and Gauri through so much agony 😉~

Take care dammit..😳
xoxo, Sana~

Thanks Sana, my friend , for clearing that out. I really appreciate that. And yes the kreatives have destroyed Gauri's characters. Shiv's character has been the same ever since the Ippy angle , but its Gauri who has lost all the dignity and a sense of morality as you put it... completely.

But that said, I still dont see any reason for posting anymore of my opinions here.

Dare I say, I am fed up... Main Gauri ke gun nahin gaa sakti... I may , for the want of a better word, will always see this serial from a pragmatic perspective and that is always gonna be a clash with the rest. And I have made a lot of nice friends here and for the sake of a serial , do not wish to have difference of opinions over a non existent character like Gauri... For me she is always a dimwitted , selfish, whining , Oh-I-am-Holier-than-thou twit!

Sad but true, but the character of Gauri is far beyond my tolerance, and straight out of those mushy love stroies and I cannot relate anymore . And may be , the fault is mine, I credit too much rationale and intelligence and pragmatic approaches in the stories.. so well I have got me to blame...
