Hello, STAR PLUS.
First of all, please do not send me an auto-generated reply. I'll be more than happy if I do not receive the one you've been sending to the viewers who took out time to write to you. Kind words, but doling out lies and false notions of comfort only unsettles viewers further. I'm not surprised that the channel has decided to pull the plug on its show 'Meri Bhabhi'. The viewers of this show have already dealt with their fair share of apprehensions about the uncertainty because the show was put in the 8PM death slot. However, the novel concept of the show attracted a loyal viewership. I do not really understand the concept of TRPs but I was certainly forewarned that the numbers aren't "good enough for STAR PLUS". However, certainly unbeknownst to you, 'Meri Bhabhi' provided a saving lift to your trite revamp - Rishta Wahi, Soch Nayi. As a viewer, I am often daunted into not writing at all about Hindi GECs because I can't help but take a certain tone when it comes to venting my frustration out against the travesty that's unleashed upon us in the name of daily soaps. But somehow, 'Meri Bhabhi' had me craving for more because the story, setup, and the characters were easy to resonate with. As opposed to the conventional belief, TV shows aren't just a medium of entertainment. Guess it'll be gratifying for the channel to know that viewers watch a show only when the characters evoke a feeling of shared emotion or belief.
Viewers cannot determine a channel's content policy. We've absolutely no say at all. I'm aware that passive viewing is an indistinguishable feature, especially in India . But I'm appalled at the banal response from STAR. If the channel appreciates receiving a response from its viewers, perhaps you should also consider responding back to them in a more expansive way, stating the reasons you believe would best answer their query/concern, at least. I'm surprised that you tossed away the expectations of viewers so ruthlessly. Every story needs a closure but the loyal viewers of 'Meri Bhabhi' will witness a rushed track to knot the loose ends together. Thanks, STAR PLUS. I'm certain that this is what we deserve for investing our time. The disjointed lapse in the current track was worthy enough to disengage a regular viewer. Forgive my ignorance about the reasons that are usually acceptable to viewers when their beloved show is axed since this is the first daily soap that had my attention for quite some time.
As a viewer, I'm vexed. But because I'm just a TVT number, I'm certain that my rant will not take away anything from the business prospect of the channel, except some ounces of goodwill because I'll definitely remind my state of being to avoid associating myself with a daily soap, ever again.
Best wishes.
Your bereft viewer.
