Aishwarya main protagonist in Mani Ratnam's Next

Everyone has been waiting to see what film Aishwarya Rai Bachchan does next. Well, the wait is over. According to talk in the trade, the actress has agreed to be part of a Mani Ratnam film. Well, that turns out to be true. But wait! It's not going to be a Hindi film.

We've learnt from Ratnam's office that this film will be made in Telugu and later dubbed in Tamil and Hindi. Apart from Aishwarya, the film will also feature Mahesh Babu, Nagarjuna and Shruti Haasan.

It's a thriller and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is playing the main protagonist.

looks like now aishwarya is meant only to do such movies . bollywood no longer seems to be remembering as who was Aishwarya, now .. Poor?

Excited for this movie. I hope she signs some more good movies.

Main protagonist in Mani Ratnam's film. W00t w00t!

She has never differentiated between regional cinema (Tamil, Telugu, Bengali), Bollywood and Hollywood.

Love that she follows her passion for her craft rather than being bothered about which platform will give her the most visibility/remuneration.

Nothing new though, she has always been like this.. Starting career with Tamil cinema despite having the biggest Bollywood offers, going back to Tamil cinema to do this gem of film called Kandukondain Kandukondain the next year after establishing herself with HDDCS, Taal. Doing Devdas which got her international appreciation and immediately doing an art film in Bengali (Chokher Bali). Again going Hollywood and managing Bollywood too, plus continuing to do regional cinema (Endhiran and Raavanan).

That is the reason she is a true blue pan Indian superstar, WITH international fame. Beat that! [:D/]

Agree with everything, but she AIN'T at all a 'SUPERSTAR', nor can be. The only actress in Indian Cinema with the 'Superstar' tag is one and only SRIDEVI. She's a Superstar in Both Bollywood and South Indian industry.
