People's behaviour towards me has changed, says Rakhi Sawant
Exclusive excerpts from Rakhi's tete-a-tete with Karan Johar from the show 'Koffee with Karan'
You survived and everybody loved you on the reality show you were on! How do you feel?
I can't forget that show. It is only because of that show that I am on 'Koffee with Karan'. That show gave me a lot of love and respect from people. They used to call me an item girl and used to demean me by repeatedly calling me that!
Do you think you had a cheap image?
Of course! I was given an image of a cheap person!
And now you have class!
Yes! Now I've become classy, else I would not have been on 'Koffee with Karan'. Thank you for respecting me and calling me on your show. I would never be so happy to even go to the Mantralaya.
You are getting emotional Rakhi!
Yes! The media had spoilt my image. My father disowned me and my mother left me. It was difficult but I took Lord Ganesha's and Jesus's name and could pass through it. And then the reality show happened. I had no clue what would happen inside.
On the first day I put on make-up, wore short clothes and landed up in the house to dance to the tune of Yeh Mera Dil. I didn't know I would become like a servant and wash everyone's underwear! Everyone started calling me Sawant Laundry.. I didn't know I would have to sweep the floors.
But you did very well Rakhi!
You know, since the time people have come to know that I'm coming on this show, their behaviour towards me has changed. People who snubbed me now come forward and talk to me. But I will never change!
