As expected, the news of Raj and Neha's engagement takes Gulmohur by storm. Neha stands blushing as Raj, firmly holding her hand throughout, tells the entire staff that they are all invited for the party that night, at his house.š
Ruby mom: Raj, yeh tumhari life ka sabse achcha decision haiā¦ā¦Neha se suitable ladki tumhare liye nahin ho saktiā¦!
Nazneen: Raj sir, aapne aaj raat ke liye saari preparations kar li?
Raj: Well, abhi nahinā¦.lekin you know meā¦.Raj Malhotra ke bas magic wand uthaane ki der hai kiā¦..poof! Sab kuch time se ho jayega!
Maddy: Ummmā¦..congratulations both of youā¦.and Neha, remember ki ek baar tum iske saath phaans gayi toh phir nikal nahin saktiā¦.š
Raj looks sideways at Neha, and they both burst out laughing. Maddy is bemused.
"All right, laughā¦!! Waise main bahut khush ho Nehaā¦you are a sweetheart!" He takes her hand and kisses it.
Neha: Thank you Maddy!
Maddy: Oh come on darlingā¦..by the way, Jassi, tumhe nahin lagta ki Gulmohur ki policy ho gayi hai ki bosses ko apni secretaries se pyaar ho jata hai..? Pehle Armaan aur tum, phir Nandu aur Beauty, aur ab Raj aur Neha....ab hume apne recruitment ads mein yeh baat mention karni chahiyeā¦ ha ha ha!š
They all laugh rather weakly at this joke. Then Raj tells Armaan that he must come with him to help him choose a ring for Neha.
Armaan: Main? Raj don't you thinkā¦.ki ye kaam tumeh aur Neha ko saath mein karna chahiye..?
Raj: Nahin! Main Neha ko ring, engagement ke time hi dikhaungaā¦..it will be a surpriseā¦.is that ok, Neha?
She smiles and nods agreeably.
Armaan: In that caseā¦you need a woman's opinionā¦I think tumhe Jassi ko saath mein le jaana chahiyeā¦nahin toh kahin meri choose ki hui ring se surprise kuch zyada hi bizarre na ho jaye!
(Too, too modest Armaan! He chose lovely rings for Jassi when they were dating!š³)
Raj and Jassi set off ring-hunting. At the jewellers, they try many different rings, but are unable to decide. Raj makes a frustrated sound. Then Jassi's eyes light up.
"Rajā¦.yeh dekhoā¦.i think it's perfect!"
Raj looks a little dubiously at the ring. "Are you sure, Jassi? Yeh zyada badi nahin haiā¦.aur na itni expensiveā¦I want to give Neha the best!"
Jassi: (firmly) Yeh best hi hai Raj! Dekhoā¦.
She points out the centre of the ring, in which a delicate ruby is set between two small diamonds.
Jassi: Yeh design tumhari duniya ko symblise karta hai Rajā¦.yeh dono diamonds, tum aur Neha hoā¦.aur yeh pyaari si ruby, Nikki haiā¦.tum dono ke pyaar ki protection meinā¦ring ki value, uske price se nahin, uske matlab se aati haiā¦..aur tumhare rishte ko yeh ring ek bahut hi khoosurat matlab deta haiā¦.š
Raj divides his admiration between the ring and Jassi. "I should have knownā¦.Jhansi ki Rani meri har problem ko, apne hi style mein, perfectly solve kar degi!"
While he is making the payment, Jassi wanders around the shop looking at the display. Then she spots someone familiar at one of the counters, sitting with his back to her. She goes and thumps him on the shoulder. "Nanduā¦.tum yahaan?"
Nandu swivels around and gasps. Jassi demands to know what he is doing.
Nandu insists that he has was just browsing.
Jassi: Nandu, tu mujhse kuch nahin chhupa saktaā¦..iss waqt teri chehre pe waisi hi expression hai, jaise school mein hua karti thi jab tu mere bina tiffin kha leta thašā¦.aur mujhe batane ki himmat nahin juta pata thaā¦.bata, kya baat hai?
Nandu: (nervously) Jassi, main ek ring lene aaya hun..!
Jassi: (excitedly) Ring? Kiske liye?
Nandu: (sarcastically) Aishwarya Rai ke liye!! Wo Abhishek ko chod ke mujhse shaadi kar rahi hai našā¦..tu bhi na Jassi! Of course Beauty ke liye!
Jassi: Toh tum aur Beauty bhiā¦.š
Nandu: Aur kyaā¦..jab Raj Malhotra engagement kar sakta hai toh main kyun nahinā¦meri aur Beauty ki engagement hogiā¦aur wo bhi aaj hi raat koā¦!
Jassi: Lekinā¦..tune Beauty se baat bhi ki hai? Aur ghar pe sab..?
Nandu: (grinning) Un sabke liye yeh surprise hai! Aur waise bhi Jassiā¦.sab taiyar toh hai hiā¦aur main nahin waut kar sakta ki meri Mummy aur teri Bua iss baarre main dheere-dheere socheā¦..ab toh chat mangni, pat byaah hoga!
Jassi laughs and hugs him. But the next moment they see Raj looking for Jassi. Nandu tells her to go as he doesn't want Raj to know what he was doing. Jassi smiles and leaves, giving him the thumbs-up sign.
Tomorrow: Celebration time!
