Loved the comparison you made about RP's dual personality and how he takes recourse to dual relationships to hide it.
As to Tara, yes, she is absolutely fearless. Yes, there was a time when she feared her husband thinking he is a murderer and a rapist. She could not retaliate when he terrorised her but ironically the man whom she feared then himself taught her to be fearless, not knowing who he was advising. Tara learnt her lesson well and turned it on the very man who taught her that.
At the time of Tara's revenge on MJ track I wondered how Tara can fearlessly fight with a man whom she still believed to be inhuman and whether she took advantage of the fact that she got to see the softer side of him and hence was emboldened to be tough on him, knowing he will not fight back. Now, in retrospect, I think at that time she genuinely was in a dilemma in deciding whether he was bad or good and assuming he was indeed bad she waged her war, knowing that he can retaliate if he wanted to. Still she did not care because for her his two-facedness was a strong enough motive to tear the mask and reveal the true face which could be bad or good. If he was bad she will suffer from his wrath but if he was good, he will suffer in silence and establish his goodness. So her gamble could have gone both ways but she still took it because, as I said, unmasking the true man whom she herself wasn't sure about was more important for her.
Now she knows that RP-Kala is bad and like the earlier MJ is two-faced. Only this time the two-facedness of the guy/gal is more dangerous than MJ ever was. The guy has already killed at least one person she knows of and is all set to ruin the life of her beloved. Unmasking him is all the more important for the safety of the family her husband has left in her care. So she will stop at nothing till the truth is out, even if it means endangering her own life. Her fearlessness will force Kala to make mistakes and suffer the consequences of it.
