Priyanka Chopra exudes desi girl vibes in white, calls Mahesh Babu ‘legendary’ at Hyderabad event

Priyanka Chopra set the stage on fire at the GlobeTrotter event in Hyderabad on Saturday evening, generating excitement among Mahesh Babu’s fans. The actor addressed the audience directly in Telugu, engaging with Mahesh Babu’s supporters and creating one of the most talked-about moments of the evening.

Taking the stage, Priyanka asked the crowd, “Thagala petteddama? (Should we set fire?)” before speaking about her return to Indian cinema. “As I’m sure you’ve already noticed, I’m so happy to be back making this movie in my beloved India. The best and only way to do Telugu cinema is to do it with the greats,” she said, emphasizing the significance of collaborating with experienced artists in the industry.

Priyanka made a notable appearance in a traditional white lehenga saree, complemented by an elaborate necklace, matching maang tikka, bracelets, and a waist belt that gave structure to her outfit. Her appearance reflected a classic desi style, which drew attention from fans and photographers alike.

The actor also praised the film’s cast and crew. She told music composer MM Keeravani that his rendition of Desi Girl for the film was her favourite. She spoke about co-star Prithviraj Sukumaran, describing him as ‘really scary’ on screen but completely different in real life. Priyanka also referred to SS Rajamouli as a ‘visionary’ who has taken Indian cinema to a global audience.

Addressing Mahesh Babu’s fans once more, she said, “What do you call him? Bob. Oh no no, lion? There are many other names, but I know him as MB, as the legendary, incredible Mahesh Babu.” The crowd responded with chants of “Babu,” and Priyanka added, “You and your beautiful family, Namrata, Sitara, have made me feel like Hyderabad is my home.”

The event also offered a glimpse into the highly anticipated film Varanasi. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the project marks his next release after the 2022 hit RRR. Mahesh Babu plays the lead role, with his first look unveiled at the event. Priyanka portrays Mandakini, while Prithviraj Sukumaran takes on the antagonist’s role, Kumbha. Both their first looks were shared ahead of the event, adding to the excitement surrounding the project.
