Actor Aditi Rao Hydari has cautioned her followers about a fresh case of impersonation after learning that an unknown person has been contacting professionals while pretending to be her on WhatsApp. The warning came through an Instagram post on Sunday, where she explained how someone has been using her photos and name to approach photographers and others in the industry with talk of photoshoot opportunities.

Aditi wrote that the impersonator has been using a display name appearing as aditi rao hydari and reaching out through a personal number. The messages reportedly mention possible projects and try to convince recipients that they are speaking to the actor herself. Several people flagged the issue after noticing that the approach felt unusual.

In her post, Aditi clarified that she never uses a personal number to discuss work. She reminded her followers that all her professional communication happens through her official team. “It’s not me. I don’t reach out like this, and I don’t use any personal number for work. Everything always goes through my team,” she wrote, making it clear that the ongoing activity is fraudulent.

She urged anyone receiving such messages to avoid responding to the number and to treat the communication as suspicious. Aditi also requested that people share details of similar incidents with her team so they can track the pattern and prevent further misuse of her identity. Her message stressed the need to stay careful on messaging platforms where impostors often rely on familiar names to gain trust.

Aditi’s post included a screenshot that showed the number being used by the impersonator. By putting this information in the public domain, she aimed to alert people who might be contacted in the coming days, especially those working behind the camera who regularly receive requests from new clients.

On the work front, Aditi was recently seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s historical series Heeramandi, which released on Netflix last year. She is currently filming Imtiaz Ali’s O Saathi Re, alongside Arjun Rampal and Avinash Tiwary, with shoots underway across multiple schedules.
