Parallel lives of the siblings

I began to watch TP recently and managed to catch all the episodes. It is a compelling series.
I liked the characterization of Lavanya, I found many members were upset or opposed to her behavior. But I believe she is more honest in her reactions towards Pakhi.

There is also a parallel running in her life linking to Pakhi's life.
She has no qualms about her brother ruining or breaking another person's trust. The minute she decided that, her own fate was sealed. The trust she had on her husband broke. Similar fashion to that of Pakhi - Pakhi got to know that Anshuman has a love interest and Lavanya got to know her husband has a one night stand that resulted in long term repercussions. Isnt it similar to what Pakhi is facing. Even though Anshuman was in love with someone else, he married her and made her believe she had a life with him and then the drops the bombshell.

Similarly, the child in each woman's life too is interesting. There is Lavanya unable to understand how Pakhi can love another's child and she falls in love with another's child. Again her husband's child. She may be blind to see the similarities between Pakhi and herself. Everytime she has had a negative reaction towards Pakhi, a similar sequence has followed her life. But she is blind to the signs that destiny drops on her lap.

Now she too is in the dilemma of unable to divorce her husband for whatever reasons.

Many people were upset with her for lashing out at Pakhi but in her situation I think any sister would do the same. As elder sisters, dont we protect our younger siblings and here she can see what the marriage is doing to her brother. He has not had peace though he brought it on himself.
For Anshuman is not only her brother but her son too. From a young age, the responsibility of his welfare has been on her tender shoulders. She may be brash and a thorn in Pakhi's side but her love for her brother and his welfare is unmistakable.

From the beginning, she has always been his shield, she has been his PR, he is her pride and joy and she is blind to his faults because from a young age she has been responsible for his faults.

Also, her husband's defection is further proof for her that all honeyed words need not house a pure heart. So what guarantee that Pakhi is a true soul.
She knows Tanya and understands her because they come from similar background. Also, Tanya does not create any ripples in Anshuman's life whereas Pakhi creates tsunamis in his psyche,

She, Anshuman and Tanya are alike but unlike Anshuman she does cares only about him and willingly takes the brunt or her the witch's tag to safeguard what he loves the most - his reputation - his image!

For me this series is not just a love story between the leads but also a redemption to all the folks involved in the series. For Lavanya, it is to understand her husband and forgive not just him but herself too for she has always been insecure about his love because for all her show of confidence, she and Anshuman come across as extremely insecure people who cover it up with a superiority complex.

interesting points :)
On one hand Lavanya has been cheated and hates girish for it on the other hand anshumaan is cheating paakhi but lav hates pakhi...
girish and anshumaan both made the same mistake but Lavs reaction to both are quite the opposite

Good points. She is protective about her brother . She has been disappointed by her husband. She ,along with her brother, do show signs of insecurity.

The parallel of the story is quite interesting. Lets see what kind of mess she is going to get herself in with the new partner.

However, there is no denying the fact that she lacks basic manners.

Nice post,

you are right that both Lavanya and Anshuman are both insecure people and they hide it with their superiority complex.

Only problem I have with Lavanya is that she doesn't respect anyone, for her money is everything.

very thgtfull post👍🏼
exactly that is wat happening n this the reason why cvs ate showing us there alternate scenes in one episode evry time,so that as viewers we can conclude a women or precisely a human with differnt faces of life n sometimes dealing with parallel circumstances but still one forget or lay dwn in a fuss which way to chose, pakhi n lav's life are getting 1 on 1 similar but still both are taking there own mannerism n routes to deal with it,where lav thinking it all in her practical way w/o thinking evn bit of responsibility of naina they owned, though somewhere i agree with her that her whole life turned upside dwn bcoz of her husband but still ...isn't somewat similar happened top akhi now??
on the other pakhi tried to figure out evry possible positiveness she can gave to there relatinship with her family

'@POV!! Interesting take!! I liked Lavanya earlier and I understood her stance when she was basically behind Anshuman when he was scheming against Pakhi. But you see, karma came back to bite her in the behind and now she is shouting that she was deceived. She is upset with her husband for what he did, but had no problem supporting her brother and in fact instigating her brother in his and their quest of ruining the innocent life of a girl who has done them no wrong. (In fact even now despite knowing the truth: Pakhi wishes them no ill)
I love the differences in the way both Pakhi and Lavz handled the betrayal they suffered! It has as you rightly pointed out, been beautifully portrayed. I feel no sympathy towards Lavz, because she still does not believe her and Anshuman did anything wrong with Pakhi. Lavz's zindagi revolves around lies ie recently she lied to her new boss (or is he a business partner) to acquire a shoe contract and she has no problem with it, as long as she is the one doing the lying, but if someone else does the same to her, its WW3😆😆

@all: thank you for the wonderful comments.
I agree that the route she takes is not right but then what she or her bro do there is always a reason but Pakhi has no reason for putting her brother through hell right!!! 😆

I just wish towards the end of the series, it just not redemption for Anshuman but also Lavanya - not just the way they treated Pakhi but also the way they treated Tanya and Girish to a certain extent.

At the end of the day, Tanya too is being used by these ppl for business reasons.
I am still trying to figure out Girish character as initially he was shown to have the gumption to stand against his wife, but now he too has become a mute spectator!!

Ultimately this line explains the whole series to me - it's not what happens to you but how you react to it that matters.

A well thought out post and you have put across your views perfectly⭐️

I love the parallels because it shows different reactions of different people put under similar circumstances. One cannot fault either Paakhi or Lavanya when they react a particular way to a set of triggers. Paakhi being who she is probably reacts ideally but Lavanya reacts like a flawred human and that is what makes me have a soft corner for her.😳

I have a soft corner for Lavanya in 2 aspects. As you so rightfully said, her unconditional support for Anshuman. While she does really have skewed morals herself, I think Lavanya will do anything for Anshuman, and that includes accepting Paakhi if it comes to that. It takes a lot of love to be that unconditional and Lavanya scores there well.
While I will give her credit for being the loving sister, I cannot give the same credit for being a good sister as such. Lavanya's views, her prejudice and her snobbery and things she finds difficult to overcome and she presses the same things on her brother even when she sees that he feels different sometimes. As a big sister, I would have rated her higher if she (atleast sometimes) set aside her prejudice sometimes and did the right thing.. But then, one cannot fault her completely. From the story about the past that Girish shared, the tragedy would have affected Lavanya too. Being the elder of the two, I am sure she put up defenses to shield herself and her brother and a part of her behavior can be attributed to that shield this brother and sister duo has developed.

The second part is Girish's cheating. One may argue that Girish was atleast truthful but I find that his truth was not just late but also the cruelest thing that he could have done to Lavanya. Given that Lavanya was already insecure about her inability to bear a child, Girish's truth, explained after she took to Naina was really done badly and at the worst possible time. He not only made her worst nightmare come true, he also snatched away that one dream she almost had. When dreams die, a part of you dies with it. You are never the same person after that.

I do not fault Lavanya for seeking a way out of her relationship. I understand her because that is how humans react when their trust is broken. Girish may be a great guy but to Lavanya, he is that one person who hurt her unbearably.. She has the right to react the way she is reacting. It will take time for her to accept his mistake. It may take more time for her to forgive and I am not sure if it will be her fault if she never forgives him ever. With Girish and his cheating, Lavanya gets my vote.

👏👏👏 Beautifully said; I agree to everything you said.
In real life too, it would be so difficult to overcome such an issue as a cheating husband.
But here, Girish defaulting was important to the storyline, the story of Lavanya. In forgiving him she will forgive herself. It need not mean happily ever after or that she should go back to him.
For me, its simply just that. Forgive and move on- whichever direction she wants to- towards Girish or away from him. And Naina will be the factor which will make her understand why Ayan and Pakhi click. I just love the way they have brought forth every parallel. Beautiful poetry really 😆
