hmm i get you point they have to earn their bread before they think of anything else , but over seas earning are pretty significant ,i dont know the number what i am trying to say is that there is a shift in the method of viewing from TV to others so trp/tvm is not a correct measure and as far as i know popularity of a show is measured by other means cos of the high amount of other channel viewship ,tv viewership it is like measuring by volume for a premium productcopyrights is also a significant part of the revenue , if you see the movie industry or the shows abroad this is a major contributor to their income , eg breaking bad here quality becomes more significantwhat i feel about this show is there is a confusion , in itially the makers intended in going the IPK route , create a difference and attract IPK's veiwers , but now there are trying to come to the mainstream methodmy best guess is cos of the split in teamthese are two ways of making revenue view ship or sustained interestchannel will any day also prefer number one spot in UK over a very high trp reason IPK was not shifted form the 8 pm slot for a long time , here popularity is increased subscriptionTRP are a way to go for a show like DABH , but for RR i doubt itbecause love story really dont work well with the regular audience , that is the reason i feel they should concentrate on quality and good story, viewership will follow just that it will be a different audienceand if prediction are to be believed we will have big production houses getting into this line soon , big money yaar with not much investment promotion is shared by channel ,most of the shooting happens in two or three rooms , actors also domt charge that high
You do have a valid point here. Colors does not have as much market penetration overseas as Star Plus. RR can be a show that could get them more revenues and subscriptions. Provided, they cater to the overseas market as well. Pleasing the desi viewers and butchering the show will get them nowhere. The show is not a typical one to attract the regular audience.
