Chapter 28:
Rey groaned as his muscles ached to even do any movement. His head was pounding like any minute it would explode. He put his both palm on his face and rubbed on his face, to ease the headache. He looked at his wristwatch, it's 7:30 in the morning. He sighted and sink his head more in bed. He stayed in same position on bed for more like fifteen minutes. He groaned as he pushed his body on left side, and slowly stood up on his feet.
Confusion took place on his face, as he found TV was on. He rubbed his head, messing his hairs. He looked around the room, find it too much messy. Pillows were scattered everywhere, his blazer was completely creased laying on sofa, blankets were in creased ball. He frowned taking in the condition. He looked down at his clothes. His white, ironed shirt was completely gone. It was creased, his first two buttons were undone. He glanced around and found a bottle of alcohol. Frustratingly, he ran his hand through his hair. He look in clock, time was speeding off. He walked through the mess and opened his closet. He took the neatly folded towel from the pile and closed the closet. He was about to turn, but something caught his attention. He turned and looked down, a blue colored cover file was on the floor.
Rey's eyebrows knotted in confusion, he took the file from the ground and opened it.
"I gave this file to Taani for re-printing." He murmured to himself. He also remembered that he had told her to give him back as soon as it get reprinted. "She must have returned it." Rey murmured to himself as he walked to his bag to keep the file. But, the sudden click in his mind stopped. Taani didn't return this file in working hours. Means, she must have came and gave me yesterday night.
His eyes widen as he got the flashback. It was not clear, but it was explainable to make him realize, what exactly happened.
"I don't hate you, Rey."
Sayyy- Yoouu Haattee Mee..." He barked on her face. "Sayy itt.." He shouted.
Taani put her full strength and removed his grip from her shoulders. " I don't hate you. I DON'T HATE YOU."
He rubbed his forehead by his finger to less the frustration he was getting by thinking. He threw the file in his bag and entered bathroom. He tapped and water started pouring out. He gathered water in his palm and splashed it on his face. He put his both hands on the counter and looked up in mirror.
his one hand caressed her cheek and another one slide from her cheek through her shoulder then down from her arm to her waist. His arms snaked around her tiny waist. In the process, the jacket and the tank top slide up, his palm rest on the curve of her waist. She shivered as his cold hand rest on her skin. He stopped his caresses and leaned to kiss her cheek. Her hands rest on his shoulder, gripping the shirt in her palms tightly.
His lips trailed down near her ear...coming down.. Rey left wet kisses in the curve of her neck. He could feel her entire body quivered against his.
He gulped as his memory rewind. He seriously need a shower, his mind was all anarchy. He stripped and pulled the tap to start shower. The water fall on his skin. He closed his eyes. He took the water flow on his head. He looked up with closed eyes to take the water on his face. He looked down and exhaled a shaky breath. Shower wasn't helping it. He cleaned himself and wrapped the towel around his waist.
He took the shirt and started buttoning it. His body was in some work, but him mind was wandering around only and only Taani.
Once she said, she hate him. Then, she don't hate him. It's confusing for Rey to understand. He looked straight up in mirror, straighting his shoulder also. Is he missing something? Yes. He was.
Why did Taani declined that she hate him? He shook his head. The more he think, the more he is getting confused. He quickly get dressed and left the room with his necessary things. But, his mind was haunting with those thoughts only.

Taani pinned her hair in messy ponytail. She switched off the button and unplugged the charger from her mobile. She was all ready to leave. But, she was beyond nervous. How is she going to face him? She bite her lips as she remembered last night. Her emotions weren't in her control. She actually gave in. Now, she can't say that she only see Rey and her, as boss and secretary. She closed her eyes to clam herself.
She walked to the night stand and took the water glass and gulped the entire amount of water in hardly two to three gulps.
"Woohhaa.." Maya shouted. Taani got startled and turned around. " Chill down babes.." Maya said as she put her lipgloss on her lips. Taani took in her attire. Today, Maya was looking beyond perfect. Taani wondered what is the occasion. She shook her as Maya is a complete another story to be solved. Right now, she has so many things in her plate.
"I am leaving." She informed Maya and left the room.
Taani stopped in front of their temporary office room. She took a deep breath and then exhaled it. Her palms were sweaty, throat was dry. She could her some faint shuffling from the office. She knew, he was in. Nervously she tucked a strand behind her ear. One last time, she closed her eyes. "Krishana ji.." She murmured and knocked on the door.
She wet her lips. Her feet was tapping the ground nervously. Soon, she heard a voice, his voice. "Come in." As soon as she heard, she wanted to run from here. She wanted to hide in the last layer of the ground. But, it was too late. Her hand has already turned the knob, she almost stepped room.
Rey looked up from his work and nodded his head. Taani gulped and come in, shutting the door softly behind her. She didn't dare to look at him. She walked nervously towards her desk. Rey' eyes were following her, her every stop.
She almost sigh in relief as she settled down in her sit. She quickly opened the laptop. Rey looked at Taani and then he turned to his work. The room was silent. They both could feel thick tension in air.
Rey sighted in frustration as at every single step, he was doing some mistakes. Finally, he gave up and leaned back in his chair, facing the roof of the room. His fingers were drumming on his glassy table.
Taani may have settled but she was completely uncomfortable with the tension in room. And, the very next moment.
"Taani.."
She froze. She could feel her hands were completely cold and frozen, same with her legs. She nervously tucked a strand behind her ear and looked up, her breath stopped in it's way as she faced, Rey who was looking at her intently.
When she moved her hand to tuck a strand behind his ear, his eyes followed. He was taking a look on her every moment. That made her so much nervous. She just wanted the ground to gulp her.
"Yes.."She stammered in soft voice. She saw, as he stood up from his sit and started walking towards her. Her heart started thudding on her body wall, as if trying to jump out from her body. She quickly stood up from her sit.
He stopped in front of her. Only mere inches from her. She could feel the familiar heat coming from him. Her eyes flickered down, something must be very interesting on the ground.
Rey pinched the bridge of his nose, and cleared his throat. "You came last night in my room.." Rey said. Taani was glaring at ground, why the hell it's not opening and taking her in it. Whyy??
She wet lips and gulped. "Umm.. Nahi toh.." She croaked. Rey closed his eyes tightly. Why the hell she is lying? His eyes set a firm glare on her, "Don't you dare to lie Taani.." He warned.
She flinched slightly. He cleared his throat. "I remember everything of last night.." He declared. Her head snapped up, meeting his eyes with her. But, she removed her eyes from him and fixed on something else.
"What did that mean Taani??" Rey asked her softly. Taani's eyes were franticly moving around to avoid Rey. Panic was rising with every single minute.
"What are you talking about Rey??" She asked, stammering. Rey's glare got more hard on her.
"You don't hate me." Rey said. Taani walked by him, she closed her eyes tightly and opened it. "Aisa kuch nahi hua.. Aap-" But, before she could say, Rey was in front of her. The distance between them was so much less. She just wanted to flung her arms around him and hug him. She was tired, mentally, physically, emotionally. But, she shook her head mentally. She looked down on the ground.
"If you don't hate me. Then, why did you say, you did?" Rey asked. Taani could feel the hurt, the way his voice became low. She gulped. She didn't answer.
Rey was frustratingly waiting for her answer. "Answer me." He demanded. But, she didn't say. She didn't.
If she don't hate me. If I affect her last time... I am missing something. Rey thought.
"Taani...last night.."He was about to say something. But, she stopped him.
"Last night?? That was a mistake Rey. Just a mistake. Nothing happened. Just forget it." How much she tried to stay with the firm face. Her voice was betraying her. It was low sounded like she was about to cry.
"What? Forget? Taani. What happened between us was NOTHING. ? Mistake?" Rey asked her with disbelief.
"Yes. It was a mistake." Taani said. She didn't look at him. "It can't be nothing Taani, we-" Rey was about to say, but Taani glared at him.
"We what?? You know what Rey, I am disgusted with you." Taani hissed. Rey's eyes narrowed on her. Hurt was evident on his face. Taani herself was shocked. She wanted to take those words back.
"Really??" Rey asked. Taani looked away. Rey took two steps back, facing his back to her. Taani bite her lips. In another moment, Rey turned and stood mere inches from her.
"Is that so Taani? Then, why didn't you push me?? Why didn't you slap me? I was the one who was drunk. So??" He title his head and glared down at her. Taani gulped a lump in her throat.
He just nodded at her. "Come on. Go and file a sexual harassment case on me. Come on.." He said as he stepped back, and motioned her by his hand towards the door. Her vision got blurry. A sob escaped from her lips.
Rey frustratingly ran a hand through his hair. This was a mess. A complete mess.
" You may leave, Miss. Taani. I don't have any mood to do work." He hissed under his breath and turned to face her his back.
Taani was shaking badly. But, she took more deep breaths and calmed her down. This time, it was her fault. She shouldn't have done that. She looked up to see Rey standing numbly, not facing her.
"How much you try Taani, you can't hide your emotions from me. I don't know why, you are doing it. But, it's too much to bear." Rey murmured, still not facing her.
Taani gulped as more tears were forming. "Just leave." Rey said.
Another sob wanted to escape, but before that happened. Taani hurriedly, left the room.

At 8:30, Restaurant of the hotel.
Maya had grabbed the both, Rey and Taani for dinner. Taani didn't want to eat. But, Maya had eaten her head. So, she finally gave in. They were sitting silently in front of each other. Taani hadn't touch her food. Rey was just playing with food by his folk.
Maya looked at them with bored expression. "Taani, Rey, we are not at anyone's funeral." Maya said playfully. Taani tried her best to give a smile to Taani. But, Maya narrowed her eyes and sighted.
Suddenly, someone appeared at their table. All looked up. Rey position changed instantly. He was all tense. Taani gulped, Maya gave Taani a worried look.
"Hello beautiful." Rahul said. Taani looked at Rey who was glaring up at Rahul. Rahul smirked.
"Hey Rey.. I didn't notice you. How can I? I mean, just look at her, she is looking so much tempting..."
That was it. It was a last thing, the time was over. Rey stood up from his seat and grabbed Rahul's collar. Taani and Maya were both shocked. They both stood up.
"What did you say?? Say it again." Rey hissed. He was beyond pissed.
"Rey leave him.." Maya hissed worriedly. Fortunately, they were in reserved part. The part was reserved for the event members.
But, Rey's glare harden on him. He was about to punch. When, Taani kept a hand on his arm. Both, Rahul and Rey turned. Taani had quickly ran from Maya and came to Rey to stop them.
Rey looked at Taani then at Rahul. His anger high up.
"Rey. Don't." Taani whispered. Rey's hold on his collar loosened. Rahul smirked and slide his hands on the collar to make it look, ironed. He looked at Taani and smirked. Rey quickly stepped forward.
"Rey. Please. Tomorrow is inauguration. He is playing sick games, Rey. Please." Maya warned. She looked at Taani who was behind Rey. Taani nodded, in understanding. Rahul just wanted to pull a scene, once this news leaked. Then, there are very less chances to get this even in RS's account.
Taani kept a hand on Rey's back. Rey relaxed. But, his glare stayed on Rahul.
"I will kill you." Rey hissed. Rahul galred at Rey. " I mean it Rahul, you dare to look at her once, your death is in my hands." Rey hissed.
"Rahul leave. Now." Maya warned. Rahul gave a last look to Taani and Rey and he turned on his heels and left.
Taani removed her hand from his back. Rey quickly looked back and turned. He examined Taani. Taani didn't say anything. She was completely mute. Once, he made sure, she was fine. He looked at Maya who was smirking at them. He walked past them, and left hurriedly.
"Come on Taani.. we have to do so much work. Come on. Tomorrow, I have too much work." She dramatically sighted just to eases the tension.
Taani looked at her in confusion. Maya just rolled her eyes. " Oh baby, I am going to dress you." Maya grinned. Taani gulped.

"Sure. Why not?"

"May I dance with you?" He asked. Taani smiled weakly at him. She put her hand in his.

"Rey, I am uncomfortable.Please." Taani whispered.

"Rey, Leave me.." Taani tried to push him. But, he stayed firm. His grip was dead tight. He was taking out the frustration and anger on her.
