As per this article, http://india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=599236&TPN=1 it has been confirmed that Smriti is leaving Kyunki.

This news evoked many reactions, some were happy that Tulsi's character, which seemed to have stagnated is finally ending, some were sad because 7 years down the line, Smriti having played her character to utmost perfection …. Kyunki has become unimaginable without Tulsi.

What are your views on the characters abrupt ending?

Do you think it will mean the end of KSBKBT?

Can u imagine Kyunki without Smriti? Or someone else essaying the role of Tulsi?

Do you think this news is a rumour, like the previous one ?

Are relations between Smriti and Ekta really strained? Is it because of Smriti concentrating more towards her career as a producer than that as an actor?

Do add your comments(no need to restrict yourself to the questions above...😳), I shall be back with my views.

Keep it clean, please…

Looking forward to your opinions,

Kyunki DEV Team.

PS: Please do not open several threads regarding Smriti's supposed departure. All discussion should be confined to this thread only. All other topics will be locked.

I still can't believe that smriti is leaving Kyunki her first love ,her first baby and we can't blame Ekta she can't use 80-90% scenes with smriti's body double ,neither Ekta or Smriti can't imagine that we audience can't recognise that they are not the actual actors.

I believe Tulsi's character can't be played better by any one other than Smriti ,she has played it for 7 long years but she thing's are not working it is better that they decide what is great for them

Smriti is moving forward in her life now she is the producer and it is very hard for any human being especially if you are the producer to act in 3 shows and produce 2 out 3 .

I have only one thing to say ALL THE BEST SMRITI

Its the most heart breaking news! I sincerely hope its not true and its only a rumour. However, it was apparent for some time that Smriti was not interested in acting in Kyunki anymore; what with her body doubles and un-involved acting. When Tulsi came to the screen, it sizzled. When Vasudha comes to the screen, it does not sizzle. Although the serial is nice, it lacks the depth and chutzpah of Kyunki. It is obvious Smriti has moved to greener pastures and is occupied with her own home productions and is not interested in masala soaps anymore. But this masala soap has more nuances of relationships and is multi layered than anyone can imagine. That is why it attracts so many viewers from all over the place. I cant imagine Kyunki without Tulsi and I can't imagine Smriti without Tulsi. I think its the BIGGEST mistake Smriti is making; that is to give up Kyunki. The whole show will crumble and its not fare that one of the legendary characters of Indian Television will come to end like this. What I want is for Smriti to come back full swing without body doubles and act the way she used to before; full of emotions and passion. She is the most brilliant actress and I think Tulsi brings that brilliance out and not Vasudha. In fact its such a shame, as things have never been better in Kyunki before with the brillaint acting of Akashdeep and Reshmi and the drama of Ansh, Karan-Nandini, Sahil-Ganga poised for exposure. I think Kyunki is sizzling at the moment; ready to go on fire. This is such a destruction. I sincerely hope this is a rumour and Smriti will come to her senses and change her ways. Nothing worked better than the Ekta-Smriti combo. Please Smriti, wont you listen to your fans?

Smriti, to me , is the only reason why i got addicted to Kyunki...as an 8 year old, Smriti to me was always the 'blue sari wali aunty' who used to invite me to the Virani household every night. An ordinary girl living a not -so -ordinary life , Tulsi's story was extremely interesting to watch.

As an actor, Smriti's acting skills remain unmatched…she has the potential of making the most unrealistic scenes look so so realistic…she has delivered many memorable scenes, which are etched in my mind several years later…'Tulsi" has become a living legend…such is the power of the character.

So many years of playing Tulsi , the character had become synonymous to KSBKBT. Ending her character this abruptly would probably spell doom for the show, maybe even putting an end to the longest soap ever to be aired on Indian television.

Somewhere down the line, Im sad if Tulsi dies…especially because KT is absolutely no match to Tulsi, and the new generation doesn't really have that spark that the older ones did… but to think the leaps just ruined the character….the second leap in particular....tulsi has ceased to exist in more ways than one, might as have the character eradicated of Kyunki for good… ?

Totally Agree here !! I hope Ekta and Smriti realize this in time and can reach a mutual agreement to solve the issues between them. Smriti owes a lot to Ekta for making her the star that she is, and Ekta is also indebted to her for making KSBKBT such a huge hit…I really hope the character of Tulsi doesn't finish….not like this anyhow!!

For me i really can not imagine kyunki without smriti playing the role of tulsi..During all those 7 years, she has bring out lots of great acting in the show.Since the beginning, i have been her fan.

She perform all her role well, and now her quiting the show soo suddenly will surely create havoc in the public...Everyday i switch the tv to watch kyunki specially to see another charisma of tulsi acting..

Her acting is soo deep that sometimes it make cry with her...she make the unrealisitic thing appear real..Everyone is etch to the tc just to watch her..

I can't see myself watching kyunki without smriti, she is the life of the show...Nobody after the leap can act like her even KT who is suppose to be her shadow.. She has been one of the top in the telly world

As a daughter, daughter-in-law, mother, grandmother, friend,wife..she has perform these role in such a way that it appear real for us..Hats off to her👏

I really hope this news in a rumour but if its not then i wish Smriti all the best for the future😳

** Wow... I'm still in shock... I wouldn't have imagined such a thing happening... I always did assume that Tulsi would be there till the end of the show... It started with her and it's only fair that it ends with her... Never did I once consider Kyunki without Tulsi/Smriti...😕😕

Do you think it will mean the end of KSBKBT?
** Well... It will certainly not be the END of Kyunki... The show still has a few strong performers, such as Hiten, Gauri, Rakshanda, Suvarna, Shilpa, Akashdeep, Ronit, Reshmi and Amit... They can sustain the show... I think...!

Can u imagine Kyunki without Smriti? Or someone else essaying the role of Tulsi?
** Nope... Like I mentioned, Kyunki still has a few characters who can hold the show up... But without Tulsi!?!?! The "dor" joining all these characters who don't even relate to each other is Tulsi...! Tulsi is the protagonist of the show! Kyunki without her is like... JASSI JAISI KOI NAHI without Jassi! Or Mamta without Mamta! I mean... It's just unthinkable!

Smriti is synonymous with Tulsi... I mean you think Smriti, you think Tulsi... Tulsi Virani has managed to carve a niche in the hearts of the public like no other protagonist ever has... She was always the first lady of Indian television. Jassis, Kripas, and Anjalis have come and gone, and no doubt, they were hugely popular too, but no one; and I mean NO ONE has managed to stay on as long as Tulsi Virani. NO ONE.

As for anyone else playing Tulsi? Psshh... I'd rather they kill off the character and give it a dignified death with Smriti still playing it, rather than bring in someone else who will never manage to match up to her. There's no doubt that no one else will match up to her. Just like how no one else can match up to Manoj Bohra as Prem/UD. It just can't be done. The public will just not accept it.

Do you think this news is a rumour, like the previous one ?
** I sure as hell hope so! I don't want Smriti to leave...

Are relations between Smriti and Ekta really strained? Is it because of Smriti concentrating more towards her career as a producer than that as an actor?
** I don't really know. To me, Ekta Kapoor comes across as a woman who dictates the terms on how the soaps are made/actors work/things are done, in general. Smriti seems to be a stong lady as well. Perhaps they did clash, due to their strong egos?

Although, it does seem kind of stupid, that Ekta would let go of the character/actor who made Balaji what is is right now. Don't forget, Prerna and Parvati may be popular. But think Ekta Kapoor and you think "saas - bahu" and Tulsi. So letting Smriti go seems like something really stupid.

The producer thing seems to be one theory. She wants to branch out and come out into her own. She's been under the Balaji banner for long enough.

The other thought in my mind is that, maybe, Smriti is just bored with playing Tulsi. I mean, like I mentioned, Smriti is synonymous with Tulsi. Maybe after 7 years of playing her, Smriti just doesnt want to be known as "Tulsi Virani" anymore? She wants to be known as something more than just Tulsi Virani?

The thing is, Kyunki will never be Kyunki without Smriti Irani/Tulsi Virani (Hey! It rhymes! Hee hee! 😆) No matter how many people watch it for Karan-Nandini/Lakshya-KT, fact of the matter is, Kyunki can hardly survive without the character of Tulsi Virani. And Tulsi Virani CANNOT survive without Smriti Irani. Period.

It shows that its high time Kyunki should end bec even the actors of tired of the serial.

Do you think it will mean the end of KSBKBT?

No i highly doubt dat. Many popular actors have left their serials before such as Iqbal Khan from KAA, Manoj from KZK and Amar from Kyunki!! However there may be a drop in the TRPS of Kyunki.

Can u imagine Kyunki without Smriti? Or someone else essaying the role of Tulsi?

Well since i was never much a fan of smirti, yes. However it would be difficult for that person to etablish in a already etablished role.😊

No i highly doubt that bec if it was we wudnt have been having dis discussion.😊

I think the media, like always, has exegerated the story.
