Frustrated Mouni Roy loses cool on paps at Mumbai airport, says 'Disha peeche hai, wahan jao'

After a weekend soaked in wedding festivities and close friendships, Mouni Roy’s return to Mumbai turned a little tense. The actor, who had been in Udaipur for the wedding of Kriti Sanon’s sister Nupur Sanon to singer Stebin Ben, was spotted at the Mumbai airport alongside Disha Patani and her husband Suraj Nambiar. What should have been a routine airport sighting quickly grabbed attention for a very different reason.

“Disha Peeche Hai, Wahan Jao”: Mouni’s Airport Moment

As Mouni stepped out of the airport terminal on Monday, January 12, paparazzi surrounded her within seconds. In a pap video, she was heard asking the photographers to shift their focus away from her. “Udhar, udhar… Disha peeche hai, wahan jao,” she said, clearly pointing them towards Disha Patani, who was walking behind her. Despite her request, the cameras continued rolling. That’s when Mouni’s irritation became more visible. She repeatedly folded her hands and said “Please, please,” while signalling the paps to step back. The moment stood out because Mouni is usually calm during public appearances, making this rare show of discomfort all the more noticeable.

Wedding Vibes in Udaipur and Airport Style

Before the airport chaos, the trio had been all smiles in Udaipur. Mouni attended Nupur and Stebin’s wedding celebrations with Disha and Suraj, sharing inside pictures from the Christian ceremony. Posting photos on social media, she wrote a cheerful note celebrating the couple, calling it a happy, love-filled moment.

At the airport, the fashion stayed understated. Mouni opted for a relaxed travel look in a white tee, keeping things minimal and fuss-free. Disha, known for her easy off-duty style, kept it casual as well in cargo pants and a top with a jacket look, proving once again that comfort is her go-to while travelling.

Besties Beyond Vacations and What’s Next

On the work front, Mouni has a packed slate ahead. She will be seen in the Telugu film Vishwambhara, starring Chiranjeevi, Trisha Krishnan, Kunal Kapoor, and Ashika Ranganath. She also has Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai lined up, featuring Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, and Mrunal Thakur, set for a June release.

Disha Patani, meanwhile, has had a quieter phase. After Kanguva in 2024 failed to make an impact, 2025 passed without a release. She will now return to the screen with Vishal Bhardwaj’s O’Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vikrant Massey, Avinash Tiwary, Nana Patekar, and Farida Jalal, releasing on February 13.
