hehe this fits what BRC's Draupadi said "aandhe ka putra aandhe"
just as Dhriti is blind to justice, Dury is also blind to what's proper for him.
One blind man following another, except in this case the truly blind person (Dhriti) was following a person who's vision was perfect, yet metaphorically blind (Dury) in pretty much everything.
This also raises another point from BRC's MB- Bheeshma was telling somebody that if Dhriti had gotten the throne from the beginning, he may have passed on the throne to someone who deserved it, because he would have gotten over the throne ... but since he felt he got injustice for being blind, he was stubborn and wanted to place Dury on the throne.
I strongly disagree with that, and even though it's an impossible question to answer, I would say that he probably would have still made Dury sit on the throne (but then in that case, Pandu would probably be alive, etc.)...
If I were to go further, I would say that Dhriti was probably behind the death of his younger brother. If he loved his brother, even in the slightest bit, he would make sure 100% that his brother's wife and his brother's sons would be happy in Hastinapura. He would not have plotted their death or tried at each moment to make their lives miserable. Of course that's a baseless assumption, but if Dhriti was so stubborn for the throne now, imagine what it must have felt like for him to a) realize that the throne will go to Pandu because Pandu is not blind and b) to convince Pandu to take the throne. Those two actions must have killed Dhriti.
Take for example, I give you a present that you can't play with -- let's make it the Playstation 4. It's all the rage, everyone wants one, but you can't play with it because you don't have the time; but you still want it badly. Now let's add someone you love dearly (wife, parent, husband, etc.) and have them tell you to give it to someone else. You'll plead not to let this happen, but it has to be that way. Now imagine that the person you are giving it to refuses to take it because they know how much you wanted it. You know you can't play with, you know you have to give it up, and as much as you want to keep it, you can't keep it. With that, you now have to convince the person you are giving it to, to take it and on top of that you have to list the reasons why the PS4 isn't for you. That's pretty painful and if you are blind like Dhriti, it just adds insult to the burn (blindness). He was born with a defect that was of no fault of his own. And now he has to give up what he would have considered his right... wow... painful ...
