Chapter Six

Evening, Karan's garage.

Arjun was sitting in his chair and looking at a Busy Karan over the phone. His mind was lingered on the mystery girl he saw in the morning. He was thinking about how she was gonna refuse Karan at the last moment. May be she wouldn't show up tonight as she didn't returned till now.

His chain of thoughts broke by the footsteps. It was Simran. She was wearing a black high neck black dress and rainbow colored stilettos. She was looking gorgeous.

Karan : Arre heroine? You are looking yummy..

Simran : Chup karr!!...Arjun, how am I looking?

Arjun didn't answer.

Karan : Jaane de, isko ladkion ki bare main kuch nahi pata...anyways, where's Di?

Simran : She's coming.

Karan : Really?

Simran: Haan. Usne kahan car nikalne ko, she's locking the door.

Karan : Shera, tu hum sab ki saath chal..Yahan akela kya karega?

Arjun thought something , got up and sat in the driving seat.

Arjun : Chalo.

They stopped in front of the doorsteps and Di joined them.

Karan : Tu aise jayegi?

Di : Kyun? Tere iss party main koi dress code hain?

Arjun looked at her through the rear view mirror. She was wearing a black geans with black top and a shiny golden jacket. Though it's not a party ware, but her jacket made it efficient.

Karan : Tu chal toh rahi hain na?

Di : Should I get down? Arjun stop the...

Karan : Nahi, nahi, meri maa...tu aise hi thik hain. Bohot acchi lag rahi hain tu... iss heroin se vi acchi...

Simran : Kya?

Karan : Maine kuch ni kahan...Shera, mere yaara, speed up. Nahi toh yeh dono meri watt lagake choragi.

The party was arranged in a pub by an industrialist's son, Ayan Badola; one of his female friends invited Karan with his friends. She received Karan and others, accompanied them for sometimes and then got busy with her other friends. Arjun took a seat at the drinks counter and saw his companions got busy with others, enjoying the night. He was particularly keeping his eyes on Di, who was talking with peoples, and joined the dance floor with Karan and Simran. But she withdrawed herself from there soon and moved to another corner with some random guy. Arjun shook his head, she is no different from those girls. But he didn't know why, he was having a negative vibe of that.

Karan returned after a while for a drink and Asked Arjun about Di. Arjun pointed to the other end of the pub when a familiar voice ordered a strong peg of stirred Martini with lemon rind. Arjun stunnd at that order, he couldn't imagine into his wildest dream that some girl like her could be fond of that kind of beverage. Di felt that stunned gaze on her and turned to Arjun. She bent a little to smell Arjun's drink.

Di : You are having this Apple juice? Seriously?

Arjun : I don't like alcohol...

Di : Got it, teetotaler huh!! Keep it up, aur Karan, Simi ko leke nikal ja...this party is of that kind...(she gestured something)

Karan : Really?

Di : Haan...I've seen them doing it at that corner. It's a rave.

Arjun : In that case...

Di : We should inform the police...but first we should get ourselves safe. Karan, Simi ko le aa; Arjun jaake car start karo...Main phone karke aati hoon.

She gulped her drink down and moved to the washroom. While Trio moved to their car and waited for Di.

Simran : Yeh Di kahan reh gayee? Ek phone karne main itna tim laagta hain kya?

Karan : Main phone lagaata hoon...

But his phone buzzed.

Di : Karan, tum log avi vi wahi ho? Maine kahan na niklo..

Karan : But Di...

Di : I'm with an old friend...I'll meet you at home. Just drive away guys.

And she cut the call.

Karan was looking at his phone, disbelief was evident into his eyes. And at the same time he heard sirens.

Karan : Di nahi aayegi, she's with some friends.

Arjun started the car and zoomed to their garage.

After they reach the garage...they were sitting idly...

Simran : Maine kahan tha na, Di would do something unusual...dekho, karr dia na?

Karan : But yeh ek rave tha toh...

Arjun : Haan, she did the right thing indeed..

Simran : But where is she? Usko toh yahan hona chahiye tha na? Kahin who khud wahan faans toh nahi gayee?

Karan : No, she told na, she is with some friend...she'll be fine.

Simran : Tu phone laga...maine try kia toh switched off aa rahi hain.

Karan : Haan..(he dialed the no)...it's ringing...

Di picked up the call after 3^rd ring.

Di : Kya hain?

Karan : Tu kahan hain? Hum sab...

Di : I told you I'm with a friend...don't worry. And ask Simi to stop her blabbrings..yahan se sunai de raha hain...

Karan : Tu aayegi kab?

Di : well,karan, I'm in a date darling...so ,it'll take time. Good night.

With this she cut the call.

Karan : (shocked) She's in a date!!!

Simran : Maine kahan tha na, yeh sab uski chaal hain...kaal subha pata karna..police ko kuch nahi mila hoge..dekh lena.

She straightened up and exit to her house. Karan looked helplessly to her retreating back.

Karan : Yaara...kya yeh sahi bolke gayee?

Arjun : (In deep thought) pata nahi, but she is interesting...very interesting.

Sumitra was sleeping hugging her huge white grizzly bear, when her phone rang aloud disturbing her slumber.

Sumitra : ( took the call) Hello, Banarjee here, koi marr gaya kya?

Khan : (in phone)Haan ,tum. Report at the bureaus in 10 minutes.

Sumitra stared at her phone, she was awakened and now trying to burn it into ashes by shooting fireballs to it through her eyes. At the next instance, she ran toward her cupboard, to get ready for work.
