Aaliya gets along with every other cousin of her's, but she has never gotten along with Zain, since childhood. The two of them have been poles apart.
Where Aaliya is sensible, smart, simple & affectionate. She is rooted to her religious values. Zain on the other hand, has always been flamboyant, flashy and a spoilt brat.
Aaliya's mother (Shabana) and Zain's father (Osmaan Abdullah) are, blood siblings. Shabana is the younger one. Both Osmaan, Shabana & Ghulam (Aaliya's dad) are simple people, attached to their Bhopali customs & norms. Osmaan is now in Mumbai, with his wife Suriya, who hails from a rich family & completely dislikes Bhopal & Shabana's family. This is the reason, she never approved of Aaliya as her daughter in law either. She's always thought of Zain, who is just as flamboyant and flashy as she is, to deserve someone better. Zain has been born and brought up in Mumbai, but has visited Bhopal a lot of times in Childhood. That's how ZaYa know each other, yet never got along as kids either.
Zain's family has, Osmaan (dad) & Suriyya (mom). He has an elder brother (Fahaad). Fahaad has two wives. The first wife is Nafisa & the second one is, Shazia. Nafisa and Shazia dislike each other, for obvious reasons and both keep fighting for Fahaad. So this trio i.e Suriyya, Nafisa & Shazia are the ones that keep making things difficult for Aaliya, in the Barkat Villa (Osmaan's Mansion in Mumbai). Btw, Osmaan is now a huge Industrialist, running a chain of successful Hotels in Mumbai. So Osmaan & family are filthy rich.That's how Zain is spoilt.
Nafisa has a younger brother, Rizwaan. He is Zain's brother-in-law and also his best friend. He was the one talking to Zain, on the phone last night if you noticed and they were talking about Aaliya. The helper in the house and care taker of Zain, has been Chand Bibi, who Zain fondly refers to as "Chand jaan" and Aaliya calls her "Chand Khaala" .
Chand Bibi & Osmaan are currently the only ones, who support Aaliya & make her feel, like she's at home. Zain was against the marriage since the beginning. Aaliya also doesn't get along with him. The three women, are against her. But Zain is slowly warming up towards her & Rizwaan too, finds Aaliya to be a perfect match for Zain :)
