Katrina Kaif's Dost Protocol

Katrina Kaif's relationship status with Ranbir Kapoor may be complicated or even non-existent at present but at least the Dhoom: 3 actress has one alleged ex-boyfriend she can count on.

In an interview, Katrina Kaif told Dainik bhaskar: "Salman Khan is always there, he is always just a message away. I am still very much in touch with him."

Trouble in the Katrina-Ranbir paradise was reported after their recent holiday to New York and though they were spotted at Aamir Khan's some weeks ago - albeit arriving separately - they are believed to have spent Valentine's Day apart.

Salman, on the other hand, is famously close to both Katrina as well as another ex-girlfriend, former model and actress Sangeeta Bijlani. And it's not just the muscle-bound Dabangg star who watches out for Katrina, the entire Khan-daan does. "We are the only family she has here. She gets pulled up by me, my sister, my father, my mother. And she has to listen, she's good at listening," Salman told NDTV in 2012, a day before the blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger - starring Salman and Katrina - released.

So it was Salman Katrina turned to when it came to her sister Isabel's Bollywood debut - Dr Cabbie, which co-stars Speedy Singhs' Vinay Virmani and The Big Bang Theory's Kunal Nayyar, features Salman's name as co-producer.

Of course, Salman knows all about Being Human but, when it comes to Katrina Kaif, we suspect it goes a little further than just being gentlemanly towards an former flame.
