Iqbal Khan (Kaisa Ye Pyaar Hai) reads the holy book, but says that this activity should not be restricted to the holy month, but should be followed, throughout the year.
Iqbal and Rahil said that norms have changed with times, and now listening to music or watching TV is okay even if some traditionalists may scream foul.
However, most of the other stars will be working, even on Eid. Iqbal Khan said that the television industry does not take a break during important festivals because if they do so, the whole year will be a holiday, as the Indian calendar is full of festivals.
When Iqbal was small, Eidi was all that Ramzan meant to him.
Iqbal recommends everyone to visit Muslim-dominated area during Ramzan to see the festival in its full flair and colour.

Celeb-rating R-Day

Ronit Roy

My earliest memories are of watching the parade on television and saluting the tricolour in school.

Iqbal Khan

In my boarding school parade, I used to be the flag bearer and the leader of the marching contingent when I was a junior. It was good fun.

Karan Wahi

I think during Std V or VI, I would wake up early in the morning and watch the parade on television. Our school had a holiday, but we would have a function the previous day, singing songs and acting in plays.

Narayani Shastri

It was much fun celebrating Republic Day in school. We used to have the march past early in the morning. After that there were different competitions and contests for all the students. I have some really fond memories of my time in school.

Anita Hassana-ndani

When I think of Republic Day, images of the flag-hoisting ceremony, singing the national anthem and some silly competitions we indulged in, come to my mind.

Urvashi Dholakia

It's quite a special day, as it is also my mom's birthday. I would go to school for the flag-hoisting ceremony. After that, I would come back home and watch the Republic Day parade.

Aamir Ali

As R-Day was a holiday, I would go watch movies. On one occasion, I bought a flag and fixed it on my dashboard. In school, I remember going for march past in the morning and then coming home to play cricket all day.
