CHAPTER NINETEEN :
'Actually --- I got some stains on my shirt ---' He started telling how pissed off he was at the moment while she ran towards him as soon as she entered and hugged him tightly taking him by surprise and shock both at a time. He tried to figure out the reason behind this sudden gesture while wrapping his arms around her waist.
He felt like stopping time until he is able to believe that she hugged him. It was the first step from her side in all these days for their relationship. He felt blessed. He felt complete with his Zoya in his arms. He started the conversation to make sure this was not a dream but reality.
'What happened Zoya ?' He asked confusedly while she spoke after a while as she was in no mood to stop this moment.
'I am soo soo scared and excited at the same time Asad. Dr Sameer asked me to assist him in a cataract removal operation next week. I am so happy. Do you think I can do it ?' She asked him nervously and he smiled understanding her nervousness as finally after one month Sameer was giving her a chance of assissting him in a simple operation.
'Yes you can do it. Just be confident and follow his instructions.' He said to her proudly while advicing her while she moved back and looked up at his face happily as if that's what she wanted to hear, if that's what she came here for, if that's why he was the first person to know this.
'I am confident but you know na Dr Sameer is a bit strict sometimes so I ---' She said in the same tone while he tucked her hair behind her ear, still holding her.
'He won't get angry in OT and I will talk to him to stay polite with you.' He said sternly as he never liked Sameer being strict to her.
'What ? No ! You won't do that. I am not a Baby who is complaining you. I just said by the way.' She said annoyingly and shrugged while looking at him with her eyes wide open.
'But he should know his limits. He is not supposed to talk to my wife in that manner.' He said while she took a deep breath as he was trying to trick her with his Hubby feelings but she was not that stupid that will come in his words so easily.
'Allah Miyaan ! What's wrong with you Asad ?' She exclaimed while he rubbed his forehead at her loud voice. 'He takes me as a Doctor not as your wife and he is not strict. Its just that sometimes he expects more from me but I end up making blunders.' She explained him.
'So what ? He should try to make you understand instead of getting angry.' He said in the same tone, not moving a bit from his decision while she rolled her eyes in disbelief as she knew Asad was more strict when it comes to work.
'He does but that doesn't mean that you will go and fight with him -----' She said and stopped as soon as she realized her hands were wrapped around his neck and he was not wearing his shirt. 'Wait ! You are not wearing your shirt.' She said as if she told herself as soon as she looked at his broad chest.
'You didn't notice before ?' He asked with a confused smile on his face while enjoying her changing expressions.
'No --- I was so excited to tell you --- that I forgot ---' She said while moving back from him and looking down but his grip was still tight on her. 'I mean --- I never noticed your shirt --- and your six packs ---' She stammered again and closed her eyes tightly as soon as she mentioned his six packs which were giving tingles in her body as soon as she saw his perfect well toned body.
'What ?' He asked innocently enjoying his effect on her while she bit her lower lip and opened her eyes.
'I only meant to say that you look more fit than last time.' She said in low voice and groaned when she realized what she was saying.
'Impressive ! You remember the last time ?' He asked surprisingly while she mentally killed herself.
'Leave it !' She said annoyingly while he chuckled at her words and blush spread on her cheeks which she was trying to hide with her stern voice. 'Let me go.' She said sternly as she was finding hard to stand on her feet when she was so close to him while he moved forward and pecked her forehead.
'Best of luck.' He said calmly while moving back from her and took his shirt from the couch while on the other hand Zoya was shocked with his kind gesture.
'Did he kiss me ? No he also hugged me. Wait ! I hugged him first ---- but he was not supposed to kiss me in return.' She murmurred under her breath loud enough for Asad to hear who was wearing his shirt now and trying to hide his smile. She looked again at him when he was buttoning his shirt and felt like stopping him to do that.
'Ya Allah ! Someone please tell him that he looks better with shirt off. Clothes are not made for you Dr Khan.' She said and sighed sadly.
'Did you say something ?' He asked confusedly while closing the last button of his shirt making her pull out a perfect pout.
'Nothing special.' She said sadly while he narrowed his eyes at her and she shrugged. 'I mean --- where is my pizza and flowers ?' She asked sternly and he smiled at her demands.
'Its where it should be.' He said with a smirk on his face and she gave him a confused look.
'You mean my office ? Then why am I wasting my time here ?' She said in disbelief while running towards the door.
'You think your time gets wasted here ?' He asked while loooking at her back.
'I will catch you later.' She said annoyingly and walked out while he shook his head in disbelief and walked towards his desk. He smiled at the positive side of her behavior after understanding that she was excited to see his gift. He looked at his phone when it ringed and smiled while picking up Sehrish's call who was calling him after so many days.

She ran towards her room excitedly as she knew his gift and the note would be better than the last one while the staff that saw her on the way was confused when they saw her running for the second time in same day as she came running towards Asad's room aswell when Dr Sameer and she discussed a patient's case and his operation date.
She opened the door and stopped in her way when she saw a bouquet of red roses on the table with a gift and the same pizza. She took few steps inside and took the bouquet in her hands and hugged it tightly which reminded her about their first hug they shared a while back.
She took out the note from the flowers and started reading it even though she was still shocked to see the whole bouquet of red roses.
Hi Mrs Khan ,,
You must be wondering why only red flowers ? Actually the florist told me its Valentines Day today so I should give you red roses only. I guess it was a good change as it made you smile more beautifully today.
I have given you a proper gift this time as you asked for. I hope to see you in this tomorrow night at the party as I still don't trust you when it comes to your dressing sense.
Anyways, let me know if you don't like it as I bought it in a hurry last night.
And ya, Happy Valentines Day. I hope that you will also gift me something next year and we will celebrate it in a better way (:

Zoya was left stunned at his words. From red roses to his future plans, she couldn't believe that Asad was saying all this. She opened the wrapped gift box and found a beautiful black saree in it.
'Wow !' She exclaimed happily as she loved his choice and wondered if he can buy something so good in hurry then what would have he bought for her when he would have got it with patience.
'Ya Allah ! My Akdu Ahmed Khan is changing himself for me.' She said dramatically while wiping off the not-at-all-visible tears from her face.
'Happy Valentines Day ! We will surely celebrate it in in a better way next year Dr Khan.' She said and giggled at her thoughts. 'But right now, I have to ask Puphi to get me a blouse for this saree soon.' She thought while grabbing the car keys and winding up all the stuff.

He was busy going through his emails while Ayaan was pacing in his room from last one hour not understanding how he should tell Asad what he felt for Humaira.
'Ayaan ! If you are not here to say anything then leave because I have to get ready now.' Asad said calmly as he was not understanding what Ayaan wants from him from last one hour while Ayaan took a deep breath and finally said whatever came in his mind.
'Bhaijaan I love someone and I proposed her.' Ayaan said all of a sudden while Asad's fingers stopped and he looked up at him. Asad always thought that Ayaan loves Humaira but now as he didn't mention her name, Asad thought that he was interested in someone else.
'You what ? How can you do this ? Have you told ami and abu about this ?' Asad asked sternly while Ayaan took a chair and sat beside him.
'Actually she told me that she will answer me after discussing with her family. I thought I will tell ami abu after that.' Ayaan told him sheepishly.
'Then she must be a good girl unlike others who hide these kind of things from his family.' Asad said sadly.
'I am not hiding thats why I told you first and I know that she loves me too.' Ayaan told him honestly.
'Then she must be blind.' Asad told what he thought about a girl who can fall in love for Ayaan.
'No but her sister is blind in this case for sure.' Ayaan snapped back with a smirk on his face while Asad was busy on his laptop again.
'Then the girl must be having lack of brain. Tell her to meet me, I am a doctor.' Asad replied while Ayaan looked at him in disbelief.
'No her sister is more stupid than her in this case but nevermind as she is a doctor.' Ayaan said sadly while Asad looked up at him confusedly as for a moment he thought that Ayaan was talking about Zoya as when it comes to stupidity, his wife can beat anyone in that.
'Who is the sister of the girl ? And why are you bringing her in everything ?' Asad asked him confusedly while Ayaan smiled mischievously.
