The industry actually has a history of having scripts in English and/or Hindustani transliterated in the Roman script. The reason for this is because of the diversity in the industry. From those who were not born Hindustani speakers, and because both Perso-Arabic and Devanagari scripts were in use.

Believe it or not, I actually think there may be more instances of scripts written in Hindi now than about 20 years ago.

Edit. Not even 20 years ago. 10-15 years ago.

Or in some cases, they just hand over the DVDs of the inspiration behind the proposed movie. No need for writing anything...watch this we'll improvise on the sets...😆
