Madhubala - Timeless Beauty ?

I keep reading and hearing how Madhubala is most gorgeous, timeless beauty, etc etc.

Is it just me who doesn't find her anything beyond an average looker ? I mean is there something I am missing while evaluating the way she looks ? No doubt she's got a lovely smile but her features are heavy and course, and in some pics, she looks a bit manly. I mean she's pretty like how many actresses are on screen. But why does she get categorized to be the eternal beauty ? 🤔

You've posted some not so good / BAD pictures of her. The first pic was from mughal e azam days, her last days in industry as she was suffering from heart disease, was in mid 30's and lost alot of her charm.

She was INDEED the eternal beauty of Indian cinema.
Even the west's world famous Time Magazine published her on its cover as the first ever celebrity from India and gave her the title of VENICE OF EAST. and very rightly so.
Its is really heart breaking to see such ignorant remarks here for her, or people judging her based on her worst photos.

To see and understand what Madhubala and her charm was/is, below stated songs are just good SAMPLEs.

It's not about that, in my opinion it's about her contribution to Indian cinema and as a sign of respect for all her amazing work.
Think about it, had it not been Madhubala we may have never got to see our Kareena, Deepika, Aishwarya, Katrina, Sonakshi etc.

It's kind of like when Madhuri is praised 24/7 on JDJ, is Madhuri actually the most amazing creature in the universe? No.. But shes beautiful, talented, has contributed greatly to our cinema and has paved the way for the next generation of actresses..

It's more about what Madhubala represents and has contributed that makes her a timeless beauty and a legend forever in Bollywood.

When people call her beautiful, it's not just about her physical appearance. It's how she carried herself. It's the grace, the elegance the the yesteryear actresses had that make them "beautiful". Few actresses in Bollywood today have that genuine beauty to them.

From the era, I find many of them beautiful. From the likes of Sharmeela to Sadhana, just few at the top of my head.

I mean there were many gorgeous leading ladies back in the day, and obviously one can't compare beauty since it's subjective, but quoting Madhubala as the Eternal beauty is a bit unreal after having seen her on screen and in pics...
