Jeevika waited on the road for Viren and Riva who had left her to go to her school and grab her assignments while Jeevika finished off her work. She tried spotting his car and finally it came and she couldn't ignore how her daughter was laughing and she knew that Viren was probably the reason for that. Viren parked near the curb and Jeevika opened the door for herself sitting in the back. She noticed as soon as she got in both of them were quiet.

j - "Why did you guys stop your laughing? You can't share it with me?"

v - "We can but we chose not to. Anyways its an inside joke, you won't understand it" he said looking at her through the rearview mirror.

j - "Mhmm. Riva did you pick up everything?"

r - "Yeah. I did. And you know how much I have to make up?"

j - "Don't worry I know you, you will get it over with real soon"

r - "I hope so"

v - "Well here's your guys's home. I'll see you later on tonight"

j - "Wait what?" she said feeling that she can't function without his presence anymore

Riva and Viren looked at each other and gave each other this partner in crime look. She all of a sudden got red with embarrassment because she just realized how desperate her tone had become.

j - "Let's go Riva" she said getting out the car.

Viren whispered into Riva's ear not letting Jeevika hear. She was becoming more and more irritated with their behavior. Viren turned off the car and got out and opened the trunk. He picked up a backpack which supposedly had Riva's books.

j - "So you're coming upstairs?"

v - "Just to drop off the books" he said smiling

Jeevika rolled her eyes and walked upstairs with Riva by her side. She opened the door to the apartment and let Riva in till she turned around and stood at the entrance.

j - "I'll take her books"

v - "Its okay I can place the stuff inside"

j - "No you remember you just wanted to drop off the books, well I can take them now" she said grabbing a hold of the stuff.

v - "I guess I have a few hours to kill and do nothing. Well I'll see you two tonight" he said testing her patience waiting to see if she would stop him.

j - "If you think I'm going to stop you, well its not gonna happen"

Riva who was standing just right behind her mom started laughing and covered her mouth when both Jeevika and Viren started staring at her.

r - "Mom you can just invite him in"

Before Jeevika could respond, Viren's phone started ringing and he picked it up. Jeevika could tell it was some doctor so she sent Riva inside the apartment while she partially closed the door so her daughter couldn't hear the conversation. Jeevika waited nervously for Viren to finish talking so she could find out what was happening. He finally finished the phone call and looked at Jeevika's nervous face.

v - "Don't worry he was just informing me of the procedure"

j - "What did the doctor say?"

v - "Well they are just scheduling the surgery for soon. So this means that both of you will have to through various tests the upcoming days. Obviously your surgery will go first so right after they are done with you, they will take Riva in"

j - "When do we have to go for all the pre-surgery tests?"

v - "My friend is going to email me in a few hours of the dates and procedures. Don't worry I have it under control, okay?"

j - "Everything will be fine right?"

v - "Of course it will be. You know it will be even better if we do one thing, well you"

j - "What? I'll do anything for my daughter"

v - "Maybe you say those three words that I've been longing to hear"

j - "VIREN! I thought it was something serious"

v - "This is very serious business. You're taking way too much advantage of me, don't you think?"

j - "Not right now, but soon" she said looking down at the ground" trying to hide her smile

Viren took her hand and made it lock with his and they both walked inside. They didn't see Riva outside so they walked inside the bedroom, and then the office seeing her starting all her make up work. Riva looked up to see both of them holding her hands and she tried to hide her smile but couldn't. It was an awkward silence, but the funny smile on the three of their faces, best known to them, stayed in tact. Indirectly the three of them all knew what they were thinking of each other.

j - "You need anything Riva?"

r - "Nope"

v - "Don't work too much okay? When you get tired, just come out and rest"

r - "Okay" she said continuing her work

Jeevika and Viren went outside the room and sat on the couch together waiting for the emails from the doctors. Jeevika just lay her head on his shoulder getting mentally tired just thinking of the days to come. She knew it was going to be so hard not only for her and Riva, but Viren. She knew and had this feeling he was going to be there, and be there from start to finish till both of them were recovered fully.

v - "Jeevika I think I should go home and get ready for tonight"

j - "No, don't leave me right now" she said holding onto his arm.

v - "Let me check on Riva first"

Jeevika got up and walked inside the office to see Riva looking exhausted. She walked near her and held her noticing her temperature was high.

j - "Riva you have a fever, come on let me give you some medicine" she said taking her daughter out.

Viren saw Jeevika walking out with Riva holding her.

v - "What happened?" he said walking to Riva's side.

j - "Her temperature Viren" she said freaked out as any mother would be.

Viren made Riva sit down and Jeevika gave her the medicine.

r - "Im okay mom don't worry"

j - "Didn't we tell you to stop working if you started feeling sick"

r - "But I was okay, I promise"

j - "Viren I don't think I should leave her tonight"

v - "Yeah you shouldn't"

r - "No, mom please"

j - "This isn't debatable"

r - "Mom I promise I won't work and I will just eat dinner and go to sleep. And if I feel more sick I will call you right away I promise"

j - "Riva you know I won't be able to do anything when I know you're at home sick"

r - "Can you please help me?" she said looking over Viren.

v - "I think she should stay with you just incase"

r - "NO! I promise you I will be okay" she said still insisting.
