Episode 14: The Hotel Inspector

Scene 1 - The Finance Department

Sathya: I've arranged a hotel critic to come and review our hotel tomorrow

Prabha: That's nice, who is coming over?

Sathya: Mrs Smith

Prabha: She is quite famous for, how do I put this? Putting down every hotel she reviews.

Sathya: I know

Prabha: Then why did you get there?

Sathya: I know it will be challenging to surprise and impress her but imagine what happens if we do just enough for her to write a good review about us.

Prabha: That will be the first time something like that will ever happen

Sathya: Exactly, the first time for something is always the most memorable time.

Prabha: So how are you going to prepare for this?

Sathya: I have plans (smiles)

Prabha leaves

Prabha returns several minutes later

Prabha: You said she's coming tomorrow

Sathya: Yeah, she is coming tomorrow

Prabha: No, she's downstairs right now

Sathya: What? Really, oh my god, come with me

Sathya and Prabha rush downstairs

The critic is standing opposite the reception desk interrogating the worried receptionist

Sathya approaches the critic

Sathya: Welcome

The Critic: Pathetic reception, neither the speed nor the quality is of an approved standard

Sathya looks tense

Prabha goes behind the desk

The Critic: Necesito un poco de ayuda (Spanish: I require some assistance)

Prabha: Cmo puedo ser de servicio a usted? (Spanish: How may I be of service to you?)

The Critic: Was ist das beste Zimmer, knnen Sie mir anbieten? (German: What's the best room you can offer me?)

Prabha: Wir haben ein Luxus-Penthouse (German: We have a luxury penthouse)

The Critic: Emmenez-moi l (French: Take me there)

Prabha: Oui (French: Yes)

The critic makes her way down the corridor

Sathya and Prabha follow

Sathya: Quite impressive

Prabha: Experience, I have to deal with foreign customers

Sathya: I did not get a word of that (smiles)

The Critic: I expect you to be leading me and not the other way round

Sathya and Prabha rush to the front of the Critic

They turn around and find the critic missing

Scene 2 - The Finance Department

Prabha: Where is she?

Sathya: She just wandered off

Prabha: Why are we taking her to the penthouse? We haven't even prepared it

Sathya: Ah it's good enough, besides we didn't have time to take it to that extra height.

Prabha: We could have had plenty of spare time if only you didn't waste it by cleaning up the part of the hotel no-one even accidentally steps on.

Sathya: Hey, a place can only be as good as its worst part. We are now miles better.

Prabha: Still not enough though

Sathya: She's a sly fox. She tricked me and caught us before we are ready. No wonder she is very negative.

Prabha: And now we lost her, what a day

Sathya: There she is

The Critic: Impressive, shall we proceed?

Prabha: Woah, how did she get herself inside a room that has a locked door with the no unauthorised entry' label.

Sathya: I can tell you that was no accident. She's very keen and noticeable, seems to hunt for something bad.

After a full tour around the hotel

Sathya: So, any opinions on the hotel?

The Critic: I have plenty to share in my review which you will read tomorrow morning

Sathya rushes back to her desk

Sathya: I'm exhausted

Prakash: Want some of this?

Prakash hands over a bowl of casseri

Sathya: I love casseri

Sathya takes a big spoonful

Sathya: The best one I ever had, where did you buy this?

Prakash: Not buy I got it from my home

Sathya: Really? You know an awesome cook

Prakash: I know myself

Sathya: What does that mean?

Prakash: It means I cooked it

Sathya: Wow, you sure know how to cook. I think I should leave some for the maker.

Sathya hands the bowl back to Prakash

Prakash: You can have more

Sathya: No, you'll eat

Prakash takes a spoonful...

Prakash: I want you to have more

... and feeds it to Sathya

Tomorrow Morning

Prabha rushes to Sathya and Prakash

Prabha: Her review is out and surprisingly she has handed out five stars

Sathya reads through the news

Sathya: This is so much better than I expected. She recommends everyone reading this to spend at the very least a single night in our hotel.

Prakash: Meaning that our hotel's predicted profit will face a drastic increase

Sathya: Excellent news

Prakash: The day I return this to you will be an unforgettable moment for both me and you

Sathya smiles

Sathya: Wow, you sure know how to cook. I think I should leave some for the maker.

Sathya hands the bowl back to Prakash

Sathya: No, you'll eat

Episode 15: Good Luck Charm

Scene 1 - The Finance Department

Sathya comes to the hotel wearing a smart suit as she is delivering the presentation tonight. She makes her way to her cabin and finds Prakash and Sathya already occupied.

Prakash: You're kind of late

Sathya: Yeah, yesterday night I was too nervous to sleep. I thought I will never to go sleep but somehow my tiredness seemed to overtake my nerves. So, when I did fall asleep, it was well past midnight and naturally I woke up later than I would do normally.

Prakash: Huh, you have the nerves?

Sathya: A bit, I think it's quite common to everyone when they do something like this the first time.

Prabha: How did they mock presentation go yesterday?

Sathya: Quite well, but I need to get the figures up to date as the projections have changed after the inspection.

Prabha: I'm sure you will do well tonight. I love your suit.

Prakash: Yeah, you look really smart today

Sathya: So, I don't usually look smart?

Prakash: You know, for some strange reason I thought you might take that as a compliment. I really haven't got hang of this weird world, have I?

Sathya laughs

Sathya: Prakash, you look very smart today, (emphasising) as usual

Prakash: I should have said that, huh?

Sathya nods

Prabha laughs

Prabha: You should be more careful on your word choices when you're around us

Prakash: I'll try

Sathya: Besides, I didn't wear this suit just to look smart. I mean that is part of the reason but this is the same suit I wore on my graduation ceremony.

Prabha: Good memories, huh?

Sathya: One of the happiest days of my life. My father was so proud of me. (Slowly) My father...

Sathya turns silent and lets down a tear

Prakash looks at Prabha confused on what they should do

Prabha gives her a condolence hug.

Scene 2 - The Finance Department

Sathya releases her arm to signal the end of the hug.

Sathya: You two have no idea on what to do right?

Prabha: Not a clue

Sathya looks at Prakash

Prakash: I can safely say I haven't come across anything like this yet

Sathya: And let's hope you never will; you're very fortunate

Prabha: You're privileged too, Sathya

Sathya: I'm sorry; I didn't mean to rekindle your past

Prabha: No don't be. I've always been frustrated and angry with him. I will never forgive myself even if I let down a single tear for my father.

Sathya gives Prabha a condolence hug now.

Prakash: I'm sure this conversation started off with something completely different.

Sathya: I actually don't remember how we got here to share such emotions.

Prabha: Yeah, let's return to the lighter side of things

Sathya: To make sure history doesn't repeat itself, I brought something special.

Sathya holds an old penny up in the air

Sathya: This is my lucky penny

Prakash: Lucky? It's certainly old; I'm not sure about any luck factor

Prabha: Do you believe in luck?

Prakash: Haven't really thought about it

Prabha: Which is another way of saying you don't

Prakash: Maybe, I don't

Sathya: I find it hard that you don't believe in luck considering that you have all the faith in destiny and fate.

Prakash: That's different, I don't really on it completely I build up on it.

Sathya: Just like luck

Prakash: Fine, I'll agree with you there

Sathya: So, luck is a factor that contributes to success by a certain percentage

Prakash: Sometimes

Sathya: Great, so sometimes luck is a factor for success

Prabha: Whoa, today went really quickly. It's home time - well, for me anyway.

Prakash: And me

The three get up

Prakash: I wish you all the luck in the world for your success tonight

Sathya smiles

Sathya: That means a lot to me

Prabha walks past Sathya

She stops and turns around

Prabha: Surprised?

Sathya remains motionless

Prabha: You don't need me to wish you luck as you now the luck in the world

Sathya smiles and runs over to hug Prabha

Prabha: Seriously though, I know you'll do well

Sathya: I won't let you down Ma'am

Prabha: I know you will definitely have good news for me tomorrow morning

Sathya: Hopefully

Prabha: No, definitely

Prabha leaves

Sathya makes her way to the presentation hall.
