An excellent story. The caring single parent of a sick child. It is hard enough with two parents but here Jeevika was all by herself raising someone above their age. An awesome SS I am only part way though it but I keep wanting to read the next part as soon as I finish. They random conversations make me laugh. I going to continue to read as I'm only on part four but wanted to comment already. I'm impatient, what can I say.
My running commentary from part 5 onwards. Her want for her father is so apparent. Even with everything her mother does, she still wants her father or someone in that position. It seems like Viren in fitting into their lives even though it is awkward but I haven't got that far yet. The growing relationship that you have created is so tenderly done. It not out of place but fits in because of the situation that they are in. I love the dropping of hints in the different updates about their pasts. You can see that Viren in only a few days cares truly about both of them but in some ways he is pushing. He's knows he's right but in Jeevika's position it not the most fair thing. Yet I still love that. Dwelling on the past or embracing the present.
Wow I finished it in one go. Have to say an amazing story and love the progression. It might be fast for my liking but it works. The sadist in me wants Jeevika to break down truly either emotional or physically and truly need someone to support her, as she will not take help willingly. If she has a chance of fixing it herself, Viren wouldn't get an edge in.
9 am bright and shiny Jeevika was awake and the first and only thing that came to her mind was Viren. She got up from her bed with a little difficulty due to the pain, but went out to the kitchen to get a glimpse of her apartment. She glanced and took a deep breath as he wasn't there. She was frustrated. Frustrated with the fact he wasn't there, frustrated with the fact that there was someone now had this unusual effect on her. There was this feeling inside her that just made her want to be with him and tell him everything today, maybe even those three words he had longed to hear.
r - "Mom" she said coming from behind
j - "Yeah" she said turning around
r - "What are you doing?"
j - "Nothing was going make some breakfast"
r - "I'll put the cereal you should go sit down"
j - "No I'll do it. Can you go bring my cell phone please?"
r - "Yeah" she said walking inside the room.
Jeevika was putting some cereal for herself and Riva when she heard their main door opening. She went around and saw Viren coming inside.
v - "You both are awake already?" he said glancing to see Riva nearby as well.
j - "Yeah. Breakfast?"
v - "I'm good. How are you feeling?"
j - "We're okay" she said just looking at Viren.
v - "Did you sleep well last night Riva?" he said looking at her
r - "Yeah" she said smiling back at him.
j - "We have to go to Riva's school to pick up her assignments and I need to go to work also and bring home some stuff"
v - "Thats fine, you sure you two still want to come with me tonight?"
j - "Yeah, Riva why don't you get ready and then I will go after you"
r - "Okay mom"
j - "Are you going to stay with us today, I mean you will come with us right?"
v - "I'm thinking about it"
j - "What do you mean you're thinking about it? she said getting worried he won't be around her.
v - "I'm thinking if me being with you will matter at all, I mean" he said starting to tease her
j - "Viren stop"
v - "So how about you ask me nicely to stay with you and give me one good reason why" he said irritating her even more
j - "Viren you will be staying with me today and if you want a reason well its because I said so" she said in a demanding girlfriend/partner tone
v - "Already trying to boss me around huh? But why should I listen, you didn't give me a good enough reason to actually listen to you"
j - "Fine go, you don't have to stay for me"
v - "I'm not staying for you"
Jeevika got scared that he was actually going to leave...
v - "I'm staying for Riva, because unlike you she appreciates me"
j - "I wonder who taught her and gave her those values"
v - "I wonder too" he said in a very sarcastic tone testing out her patience.
He was willing to push her to her limits so she would admit it that she needed him as much as he needed her. He knew it was tough for her, but he hoped that maybe this way she would blurt out her feelings. Riva came out of the room ready and Viren walked near her.
v - "You okay?"
r - "Mhmm"
j - "I'll go get ready now" she said walking back to her room slowly in pain.
Jeevika closed the door and locked the room and an inevitable smile came on her face. She didn't think anything in this world besides her daughter could actually make her smile, and more than smile she was blushing. She was blushing in love. She had to say those three words and that too TODAY. She just wanted to get it off her chest so she could make him realize how much he meant for her. How hard it was for her to fall in love again, but she did and this meant something. When Jeevika came out of the room she saw Viren and Riva talking to each other. They seemed so interested in their talks and one another that they didn't even realize Jeevika staring at them.
j - "Can we leave now?"
r - "Your here" she said excitedly getting up.
v - "Lets lock up the doors"
Jeevika and Riva walked out the door while Viren shut it locking the apartment. Just seeing him play the role of the man of the house melted Jeevika's heart. Instead she looked at Riva who waited for him to turn around and held his hand walking down like the perfect father-daughter pair.
