Honestly number 1 position keeps changing. So it's wrong to stop shipping that actor or actress if they are no longer number 1.
Kareena priyanka vidya are not number 1 actresses right now but they would be always remembered for the epic roles they had done. So number 1 doesn't matter, what matters is the quality of work an actor or actress did,

I ship deepika salman because of the quality of work they did. Not because of their positions

err no NO NOT AT ALL!
this way the industry wont grow and probably that's why Bollywood is so stuck right now- probably that's why crappiest movies of khans are doing so good- probably that's why talented newer lot is facing it rough to find a decent following
in 21st century where we expect people to be flexible- how can we be so rigid to remain stuck to one person all this long
no not at all
im glad I don't do this
I have my new favorites and I think its extremely healthy
I genuinely believe eternal fandom is killing Bollywood right now and I listed my reason as above
what are your views ?

there was a time when rajesh khanna was dominating the industry...he was all over...all were his fans...n slowly amitabh bachchan came...some were not willing to appreciate what MR AB was doing because they used to just love Rajesh khanna...but slowly things changed...people changed their perceptions...they also saw talent in Mr. AB...so he became what he is now...

so changing favourites should come from within...one cannot force oneself to like a certain actor or actress...if the the process of changing favourites is natural, then there is no harm...

its ones own perception actually...if ones fav is not doing good, then one has every right to change ones favourite till one gets satisfied...i have done also in past (amisha patel is the example )

n now coming to the point of bollywood movies n khans, they are there because of all their hardwork n with fans support...so if someone has to reach that position, he has to work harder n in an effective way...n ofcourse there is luck factor which cannot be ignored at all...yes, fandoms are reasons for a films success but not the only reason...

actually we all love to appreciate a film( however crappy) of our favourites for the sake of just appreciating...but i feel most of us dont even watch a movie twice of our favourite if we dont like that particular movie, dikhaiwe ke liye n for defending we might argue, but we generally dont watch movies which we dont like...

n dear...i appreciate the fact that u like to be flexible...not rigid...not so many can do this...not even myself...so kudos...

I love all the comments so far!
very sensible discussion I must say!
P.S: just want to clear- I don't change my favorites coz of number game either. If I am presently dpad's fan its coz of her body of work more than the position and if im drifted away from kat- its because of her failed attempt to give me something new in more than a year
I loved kat in 2011 when kareena was a bit ahead but I was all in favor of kat coz I saw such a promise in her, ZNMD and MBKD -she nailed it but she disappointed me with what she did later
just clarifying my stance on this bandwagon thing- for me body of work matters more!
