Just posting my response which I made in another thread today
err no NO NOT AT ALL!
this way the industry wont grow and probably that's why Bollywood is so stuck right now- probably that's why crappiest movies of khans are doing so good- probably that's why talented newer lot is facing it rough to find a decent following
in 21st century where we expect people to be flexible- how can we be so rigid to remain stuck to one person all this long
no not at all
im glad I don't do this
I have my new favorites and I think its extremely healthy
I genuinely believe eternal fandom is killing Bollywood right now and I listed my reason as above
what are your views ?

dunt think so...while there are rigid fans for some celebs, its not like they will watch all kinds of trash dished out at them...
i mean, Jai Ho was underwhelming right despite salman's fanbase? and so were veer, MAMK back in the days... and so were JTHJ and Ra.one despite srk's fanbase...

CE and D3 werent good films but u can see why they did well...they were well packaged i guess...

its not like the young ones are having it really tough...Ranbir had BB last year in YJHD, ARK's aashiqi was a superhit, sushi's KPC and SDR did well in the markets they were meant for, ranveers BBB was a superhit and Ram leela was a BB...arjun's ishaqzaade was a hit (acc to BOI, and that too without an overseas release) heck even SOTY was a hit...

i dunt think the fanbase of senior actors can "harm" the new ones in anyway...people will watch a film if its good/well packaged/entertaining

I don think so..To each his own..Am fickle when it comes to actors but i wouldn't ever say rigid fandom kills Bollywood..Its fine so long as you consistently like someone yet appreciate good cinema whenever its made😆 There is a reason why ppl love their favorites for a long period of time..Just because they fail, you cant start hating them and cheer for the next successful one..Am not saying its wrong but its not so easy..Am a really rigid fan of Roger Federer..Just because he is losing now and not playing well, i cant just abandon him and start cheering for the next best thing in the tennis world..Ppl are emotionally invested in their favorite..Failure shouldn't deter you from cheering for that celeb IMO😆 But as i said, its fine to be rigid so long as you don pull down other actors😆

but its getting unhealthy!
I see so many people not appreciating good actors just because they know the actor they are fan of is not a good actor
not aiming at any one but its seriously affecting quality

I hate to be bandwagoner n when my fave is facing hard tym theni will not jump on other ship bcoz it is currently flavor of d season even during srk supposed downfall i never stopped loving him n whenever kat willm face downfall i will stand by her

i cannot
its subjective
and i don't want to change my favorites
And why should i??
because they are no longer no 1??

when i loved bebo,my friends laughed at me saying that she is stupid, arrogant
she went on to become no 1
now that she is no longer no 1
why should i shift??

How? I love Kareena as an actress but a lot of my friends think she hams and is overrated as hell..And no, they are not Kat or DP fans😆 Acting is subjective..Not everyone has to appreciate someone's acting skills just cos we believe so and so is a good actor..

Why Bollywood? There are people who are diehard fans of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe and James Dean. Even after 30-40 years since their exitence. Is Hollywood or Billboards suffering because of it. You are defining fandom as a single-point agenda. People can remain fans of their original favorites and still appreciate newer stars.
But you cannot deny that there are band-wagon fans in every field. People who latch onto the current flavor of the season just because everyone else is doing so. I would much prefer a rigid fan than an opportunistic fan.

Disagree! Ranbir was appreciated for barfi, Arjun was appreciated for ishaqzaade, ranveer was appreciated for ramleela. They are appreciated when they do good work.
Khans have a special place in people's heart but they have created that place with their epic movies. Yes they have did some crap movies but still the newcomers are no where close to khans. It's not that people are not giving the newcomer chance, they are giving them chance but that doesn't mean newcomers can replace khans

Movies which khans had done in past years were hit not only because of them but also the songs, heroines, promos.

Salman Shahrukh aamir Hrithik these people are appreciated because they are good actors and entertainers. They have done movies which people can never forget.

So according to me the khans roshan deserve the appreciation they get,

I don't agree with this! being a fan of a particular star doesn't stop u from being appreciative of another talented star, people can be a die hard fan of salman and still appreciate relatively new stars and watch their movie. Fans don't need to abandon their stars to appreciate the newer stars.
