I think the reactions to Anushka (and even Sonam, Kareena to some extent, etc.) show just how much of a good actor you must be off-screen as well to get people to like you. If your insecurities (which they all have without exception) appear and you come off as anything but the most sorted, most generous or most politically correct and conventional, it's something the general public doesn't want in a 'star' and will never accept until you begin filtering yourself. The industry and rat race is all about illusions!

Surely. It's nothing but a well thought out lie..and Anushka is wrong..the average man does not necessarily have the intellect to figure out how the game is played. I honestly believe that a way an actor projects off screen can at times even make up for the lack of performance on screen 😆 on the other hand, if you're perception off screen is not well received then your on screen work can get hampered because of that. That's why I rather prefer Anushka maintain a low profile in between work.

This was well said:
But my perspective changed after working on P.K. and Bombay Velvet. Now I've started loving the craft and enjoying the process. I realised we have the luxury to create a whole new world and characters.
She hasn't had a release in a long time, but it's nice to see that she's nevertheless growing or maturing through her experiences in the way she views film-making. Though there's a lot of other stuff she must yet mature about, there's two things I like about Anushka: she is not desperate for releases, and she lies low on her part when she does not have releases rather than trying to remain relevant.
Her love for the craft makes me think that was one of the things she had in common with Ranveer...the draw towards honest creativity.
Yes she has a lot of growing up to do but good to see she's finding her bearings now after some low phases.

I agree...a lot of the younger generation seems to be similar in that...Anushka, Ranveer, as I'd said elsewhere Ranbir...even Sushant, etc. They all gravitate towards technicalities of film-making and seem to be genuinely engaged by it. They're not all absolutely sublime actors or have a body of work which totally reflects it...but you can still sense that they make some effort and try to be genuine with the work they take up. It's very nice to see people who actually actively care somewhat about or enjoy the ACTING part of it!
