It's Punjab in the 80's. There was turmoil all around. But none of this had affected Preeti's life ever. Her family was respected in the village because of her retired cop father. Her brother who worked in Canada, had got her this perfect match and when she met the guy Pranav, she liked him too. Soon she was about to get married and go off to Canada. Then one night, she is abducted by the truck driver who had given lift to Pranav to her house. Preeti gets to know that the truck driver Raghu and his mother has been planning a revenge against her father for a very long time, as his father had killed Raghu's elder brother in an encounter thinking of him to be a terrorist. Raghu is told by his mother to abduct and defile Preeti and then leave her, thus giving her family and her father a lifetime of humiliation. Preeti is terrified, and in the night, when she thinks Raghu will rape her, she manages to escape. What she doesn't know is that Raghu had helped her escape.
